991.2 GT3 will come with "Touring Package" option

Think I am in the minority but I wish I could spec the back seats and keep the wing. While the back seats aren't great for many occasions they do come in handy every now and the .

Not quite alone, I'd seriously consider that, don't want to lose the wing but rear seat for the odd short trip would be really useful

I hope porsche doesn't get killed with lawsuits stemming from injured children should they include rear seats for this Touring option..

Excellent news. Thanks for the update. I don't have a locked build as yet either given manual preference but this sounds promising. (also Aus located)
Ok, so this just in.
Confirmation from my dealer this morning that the GT3 Touring is a thing. It is an option on the GT3, so you need a GT3 allocation to option it.
Details I have so far:
Comes with Manual transmission only.
No Cost option.
No mention of rear seats so that pretty much rules them out I would suggest.

Details I have so far:
- Deletion of rear wing
- Runs with same rear spoiler as a Carrera S
- Revised boot lid Grill
- Leather seats instead of Alcantara
- Textured centre of the seats
- Painted alloy wheels in Aluminium Satin Gloss

No Cost option.

if truly avail only w 6MT , it makes sense for company employee AP's PR-approved statement months ago that Porsche Motorsports is in the business of engineering GTx cars for driving pleasure -whatever that means for its end user - not as investment instruments ( ignore market reaction to production volumes/dealer allication )
it was most likely aimed at gently tamping short term valuation expecations of 911R owners and or its speculators, knowing a " manual only wingless GTx .2 " fraternal , not identical, twin of the .1 911R was already long signed-off

For those of us with GT3 builds that will lock before September, any cost estimate to replace the wing with either the rumored 1. Boot lid rear deck or 2. Standard Carrera spoiler? Maybe it's worth a trip to the Parts counter, but realistically, I'll likely end up preferring the wing to the $6-$7k cost to replace it.
The Touring option sounds like a winner to replace my 50th, and I don't care about a back seat.

I'm guessing the Sport Classic will be similarly limited to around 250 units like last time? It's a shame, I think that's the car everyone is going to want vs a GT3 sans tail.....or maybe just me...heh

She has not seen the final styling of the seat inlays but her money would be on houndstooth.

I expect the Sport Classic will be that perfect car, but all go to the VIPs. I can't even get a GT3 allocation, no point even trying for something limited.
Still very happy with the 991.1 GTS--even more now that there won't be a way for mortals to get back seats in any NA Porsche going forward.

The "poor man's" R is slowly coming to fruition. No wing -- check. Houndstooth -- check.
How long before we see a GT3 touring re-badged as an R
