R VS Touring:
- SMFW ? 1Kg?
- 11.2 Kg AC (Until proven wrong, it is impossible to order a GT3 without, but most R have AC anyway)
--->>> Very Easy to remove the AC from a GT3 they sell for few bucks a do it yourself tool
- 4 Kg Plastic windows. --->>> Very Easy
- 4 Kg CFRP fenders and bonnet. --->>> Very Easy but useless expensive
- 1 Kg Mg roof --->>> Not easy and useless expensive
Best case Total 2kg diff??
ok 6Kg if CFRP not ordered for the Touring
but almost all the 991R have extended leather right?...

R at 197k is a good celebrative car
but corrective steps to make the mad market back "on rails",
as the Touring project,
are highly healthy for everyone porsche included
maybe all the R queens will see a road finally

You cracked the case wide open. Good on You. you have provided everyone with all of the data to prove your point - all without having driven either car. Excellent. Perhaps now you and Destitute can focus on enjoying the cars you have and no longer have to worry about that pesky R you don't have. Both the Touring and R are going to be great cars to drive IMHO and owners who drive them will be happy...Since you can only drive one at a time I find all the energy you guys burn on these asinine relative comparisons to be quite amusing, Enjoyment of a car is subjective and Value of car to owner is based on the number that causes the owner to be willing to part with it - which will be different across owners - deal with it. Most of the stuff you spout appears as if you trying to say something enough times so that you convince yourself of it - again IMHO.
I'm not the one that needs to convince myself that paying 2x over MSRP on an R was a wise decision.
At MSRP an R is a great vehicle and I'd have a hard time choosing between the two. I definitely prefer the engine and front end on the Touring but I prefer the rear end and special parts of the R so it would be close.
At one vehicle being 2x MSRP the decision is so easy it's comical to see others argue otherwise.

not sure why it bothers you so much. Just enjoy the car you buy. They are all just cars and better ones will come
