A question for you guys as a potential future GT buyer. We're moving from the Midwest back to the Philadelphia area. Would it be better for us to establish a relationship with a local dealer in Philly (say, Porsche of the Main Line) or stick with buying future cars from the dealer we currently have here in the Midwest to maximize the chance of picking up a GT car at ~ MSRP?
Main line Porsche are no help.
Also all the rest.
They all want over msrp.
I made a relationship with a dealer 2 hours away.
I hope they will get me a car.
I all I have is hope no guarantees.

So confused, because two local dealers here claim they've heard nothing, haven't received any allocations, haven't given out any order slots, etc. One is a major dealer, so I can't see how that's possible with all the postings here. Yet a third told me I'm two back in total and two back on a manual car. Am I just getting the run-around from the first two (one of which, BTW, I've spent $$,$$$ in service bills)? Anyone from the Philly area have a different experience with PoTML or Porsche of Conshohocken? ![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)

Something I have learned when dealing with dealers, give them the same BS they give you. If they say they aren't aware of allocations you say, interesting because I was about to put a deposit at xxxx dealer for $2500 over MSRP, I am surprised you haven't received an allocation! Let them counter with what they're willing to sell the car for.

I have a great dealership here in Texas and I will wait a year or so and try again. I have already ordered a 2018 Cayman S through them and they are straight shooters. I also have spoke at length with Alexander at the Porsche dealership in West Broward and he educated me on the whole process....he is a real gentlemen. His youtube videos are real informative as well. I guess in all professions there is the Good the Bad and the down right Ugly...

Just spoke to my SA and he told me that their first two allocations were going to VIP 918 customers. I asked when I could expect to get mine. That's when he dropped the bomb and told me that when an allocation became available, they would be looking for market price or roughly 30-40k over MSRP. He also threw in that they would be considering who is paying cash and who will be financing with them. The dealer just lost all integrity. I will be telling all my friends regardless of what kind of Porsche they are buying, to stay away from this dealer. I am a good customer and have had 4 Porsches in the last 8'years. I still have two and get them serviced there regularly. If I am unable to find a dealer who will sell me the car at MSRP, I will begin to look at cars outside of the Porsche brand. I'm really ticked off at this extortion BS. Dealer is South Bay Los Angeles.

South Bay is notorious for that. sorry to hear. Really they do not care and you shouldn't be surprised. They will sell all of them for over in that area and do not care about repeat customers. Next hot GT they will sell to a new set of folks for over MSRP.
Sorry to hear about this and best of luck.
