It looks to me like he purchased 1 year of additional warranty and I can see that in Ferrari world costing 4500$. But I might be wrong...
I'm sure he'll explain when he sees your question...
Mclaren, Ferrari etc are really good at extracting money from rich people. They just think rich people don't care about spending $250/hr in labor, $20k to fix a front bumper, etc. It's about maximum extraction. They are very good at the psychology of pricing.
The Mclaren MSO options have the most ridiculous prices.
Don't mind me, I'm bitching because I don't have the $50m+ net worth like the people who buy these.

I'm curious what Ferrari pays flat rate for that service. Let's say it pays 5 hours(they must be crazy if they do)...I'd pull that off in 1.5 hrs and waste 3.5 hrs on Rennlist. Done! Easy money! Lol.
But I bet their technicians don't see more than 2 cars a day...if they're lucky...

I'm sure you are correct. I don't really care though
6 more months and I will be retired at 50.
The point is, all things are relative...same service on a Pagani would be $10k for service alone, I changed my own oil, pads, discs, ducts on my $125k ZR1 for $200, but it was just a Chevy...not so for my GT3, GT4 or 458...I would only screw something up and can make more money doing what I do rather than being an amateur mechanic. Plus, like it or not, having documented Ferrari dealership service records are "necessary" IMO (probably not in your opinion).

I am not here to " judge ". You are doing the right thing.
I service my car at the dealer too just to have the records, even though I can do that stuff blindfolded and with one hand tied behind my back. Just kidding, but that's not the point.
Let's just say I know a bit on how they operate. When they tell you they check this and that besides the oil service and filters...it's BS. They were charging me for cleaning the debris from the front radiators even though they never did.
A lot of that BS on service bills can be avoided if you make it clear you don't need it. They don't do it anyway. They charge customers for their brake cleaner and rags...give me a break!
Anyway beautiful cars! Enjoy!

yeah, I know what you mean about the Ferrari and Porsche tax...we all do , but yet we all continue to buy, drive and love these cars
I've come to terms with "paying for what you get" as the years go by.
and absolutely believe people buying these type of cars should go in with eyes wide open in terms of future costs.
Always appreciated your passion for manual transmissions and having to drive a auto GMC Sierra for 6 winter months up here made me drive the GT4 over the other two everyday this week
anyways, I really wish I was at Smokies this weekend
thanks!

And I've read you're getting the 991.2 GT3 in manual. Great choice! I bet you're gonna love it!
