The true high end cars have design elements and construction methods that are simply missing from most Porsche sports cars.

No one described things that way ...............they are functional, effective and fast even but they are not really high end. It makes no difference to me personally but it seems to matter to some Porsche owners. Its not something I personally consider at any level thats why a I purchased a new RS and gutted it for my needs. I didn't consider doing that to my 720S. So for me there is a clear difference e.g. something that I consider track fodder versus something that I don't think is track fodder.

TLDR: Opinions are subjective based on personal beliefs which may or may not change in the future based on subjective opinions which are personal beliefs.
Tongue in cheek: Today a 720S is the best car in the world. Tomorrow a bus pass is the best car in the world. If I could go back in time, yesterday’s best car in the world is a 911R.
Conclusion: You like what you like until something you like better comes along. Please don’t say this to your spouse!

Ok. Then that’s the disconnect. I see. Problem is many and I think most actually consider Porsche a “high” end car especially GT variants ( surprised to find some don’t actually). No question it is imho. Some high end Porsches:
GT3, TTS, TTS Exclusive, GT2, GT2RS, GT3RS, CGT, 918, 935, GT2 Club Sport.
Certainly as high end as F cars and Macs.
They all have models clearly achievable by the middle class and upper middle class.
Interior photos tell me nothing. Sorry.
Again very subjective. All of it.
Pagani, Bugatti, Koenigzig, etc are in another league based on their clear exclusivity and initial buy in price to the club. Agreed.

The 918 was very effective for a short time but look at its interior - honestly it just isn't the complete package in a way the P1 or La Ferrari La Ferrari is. The 935 "replica" is really a GT2 RS in a body kit..........thats not fooling anyone.
The simple split is around design, manufacturing, materials and performance - like artwork there are those that want to buy something special, different, unique - you do not really get that with Porsche.
What you really get is top-end but not high-end and there is a difference.
So in a nutshell with cars there is a physical engagement factor and a mental engagement factor which could be crudely summarised as how it drives and how it looks.

You can't compare a Porsche turbo to A Chevy. Its closer to the F And M cars. Also if reliability matters to you than M cars are out.
Plus the 720's are depreciating at a ridiculous rate.
I built my 991TTS and was thrilled with it for 3 years. Ferrari I agree is on another level but price delta and dealer games have moved me away from the brand.
