So how much per yr for 675lt extended warranty? McLaren or aftermarket? How much to insure, maybe relative to a Porsche GT car?

I have never had a mechanical issue with either of my McLarens. In my view you simply need to 1) wait for base idle to be achieved before driving, 2) don't push the car before the oil is up to temp and 3) always keep the car on a tender if it will be unattended for more than a couple days.
I will say again that the 675LT spider driving experience is unfathomably good. I can't imagine enjoying driving a car more, at least not for under $1m

I paid about $9,400 for 2 years of coverage on my 675 LT spider 4 months ago .
There are 187 Ferrari 488 spiders and 13 675LT spiders currently on Autotrader for about the same money. That doesn’t make sense to me.

I'm considering moving back to the GT3 world. Currently have a 2016 570s with low miles with mild mods (full exhaust and forged wheels) for sale if anyone is interested in joining the dark side. I'm hoping to jump into an RS at some point later in the year.

Driving experience has been great. I had a 997gt3 and then moved to an 2017 R8 V10+. I never felt like the r8 connected with the road so I figure why not try McLaren. The 570 steering feels identical to the 997gt3. Amazing feedback. The acceleration is tremendous...especially once the turbos kick in. There is a slight turbo lag though but the 570 will definitely outrun a gt3 and most likely rs also. The car has been reliable too which I can count myself lucky. I only get 2 electrical errors from time to time which are sidemarker error and lights error. Both of which goes away after about 3 seconds. Apparently this is typical McLaren. The car is even better now since I've put on wider tires with the new wheels. Went from 225 front to 245 and 285 to 305 for the rear. Makes a world of difference.
It also gets a ton more attention than any car I've had before.

it was a toss up to me whether a liked my 570S or 2019 RS better. Basically amounted to whichever I was driving at the moment I would think I may like better. Now that I traded my 570 for a 675LT spider I can tell you without question I favor the 675 strongly over the RS

To your point, former Evo Contributor Secret Supercar Owner, has owned 7 McLarens, 16 Ferraris, a Koneingsegg, a Jag XJR-15, a Mosler, a few Porsches, Maserati etc. Still owns the F40 and just put down a deposit on an Aston Project 003.
Here he weighs in on his McLaren reliability history:
https://karenable.com/mclarens-reliability/
TLDR: 7 McLarens including P1, 675LT, 720, 650.
Still owns 3
80k total miles
Total of problems: 1 frozen parking brake caliper, 1 temperature sensor, 1 tire pressure sensor, 1 loose turn signal, 1 IRIS unit replacement
Otherwise, zero issues. Three of 7 cars with zero issues.
I'd tend to think he has a pretty good grasp on supercar ownership and would put stock in his McLaren service history....
