Im sure when the car arrives in 2021 and I finally get a chance to drive it, it will be worth the wait.

In a world where Mercedes is investing $800M of research into the project one, tech which will trickle down to production cars (the architecture of the E53 cars for example with the electrical turbo). In a world where something beautiful and V12 like the AstonValkyrie is coming out... in a world where the hybrid/EV sportscar offering is getting every busier... They just needed to try harder, especially for $2M+. At a minimum, with a novel engine, not another rehash of same 4.0 v8 + hybrid like P1 engine for example.
Instead they treated the son of F1 as purely a profit project, resting on their history without putting in any real effort or investment. I already know multiple know who asked for their money back. this is a real pity actually, massive wasted opportunity for a true halo car for the brand.

i think everyone needs to take a chill pill and relax. These are renderings and images and the car may look fantastic in person.

I don't get all the negative comments on this. To me it is a beautiful modern shape that looks to the future...not the past. And as such, it may be a bit confronting to some people who expected a more familiar shape.
Also, while intended for a completely different purpose, it makes the new 935 (with a similar extended tail) look old fashioned and out of ideas in comparison. Bravo to McLaren for being so, well...brave.

Although I would temper it a bit since a lot of people reacted similarly to the Senna - saying it was ugly. And auto design is hard and whimsical... But it wasn't $2.5M either...

I might take you up on that but it seems the dealer is trying to get it here. Hopefully they are trying hard but difficult to continue to be told all sorts of issues with "the truck". That special truck. The one and only in the whole world worthy enough to transport this very special car. Meanwhile, car paid for in full close to 3 weeks ago. Cant say its been fun or a pleasant experience, my first with Mclaren.
Im sure when the car arrives in 2021 and I finally get a chance to drive it, it will be worth the wait.

The speedtail is like a lot of other leading edge/bleeding edge productions. It will grow on many people. So does toenail fungus but who of us without a few mil to burn care? Are all the complainers canceling their allocation? I am going to put $500.00 down tomorrow and spec one out. MSO all the way baby! Oh, and searching fleabay for Jetson outfits in my size.
But don't worry too much because the speedtail will knock the pre owned Senna price down to the used 911 TT price range.
And I love my 570S. And my GT3s.
