Rich, as well Thanks for the update news on your car and Good to hear how you felt PAG treated you ; likely your best solution down the road with that car given heat/ metal concerns many stated here . Best on your new quest .

I guess this would be considered great news (only you know for sure). Good that PAG is taking care of you.

Hindsight is 20/20.. but I was wondering how the heck it made any financial sense for Porsche to just replace the motor when all those parts had been damaged. Just the labor or tracing a potentially burnt electrical line and reworking parts of a wiring harness which might go all the way to the front of the car for example. It sounded like a total rebuild of the car. Anyway, this full buyback by the OEM is what I think any owner would have wanted as evidenced by most posts on this thread. Sounds like Porsche is standing by their product which is more than many brands will do. Good for the OP, and good legal precedent for any other 991 GT3 owner whose motor potentially goes kaboom in the coming years.

Great resolution for the OP! PAG got a damage control deal too.
I wonder how many incidents don't ever get in public due to non-disclosure deals like this.

that would be an idea! i mean it hasn´t to be 918VIP status but...

good for the OP and thx for sharing!

no comments regarding trackuse? (which for sure can be checked in all the details of the ECU records (fuel used, g sensors, tire temps, gearing all in relation to operating hours ..)
if they were open all the time - straight away without extra efforts - then props to PAG!

Would be my number one priority if it was me, along with PTS. Hope the OP did.

Good to know that if my GT4 and RS engines go KABOOM tracking that Porsche will stand behind their cars.

I just wish we could get one positive example out of warranty, but that's years away.
I'd love to keep this car for 30 years if I could feel comfortable with the worst case.

I'm sure there have been goodwill warranty repairs but one of the reasons why I retired my 997RS from tracking was because the warranty was coming to an end.

I'm now in the market for a car. I'm test driving a GT4 Clubsport this week and may go that route, or may pick up a used GT3 if I can find a good value. The options aren't apples to apples and come down to money, safety and whether I want to eventually move from DE's to racing and delay my retirement even further.
good outcome!
cs very different, but fun too.

Just be content that Porsche is replacing engines in warranty.

OOW and you're on your own.
