There's nothing troubling at all about people discussing the general market for the cars - many people still want a car and it's a great place to figure out the market. But i agree, everyone worried about resale and value down the road are caught up on the wrong thing. One ride in this car and it becomes irrelevant. Get it on the track and it's once again a different level. I haven't once worried about the market for my car and actually have hope for more builds so more people (smokies!) can get the keys to an RS.

The sgroer 7 step process for getting one at MSRP is to

1) pick a dealer
2) stop by every so often
3) don't be an entitled jerk (they see too many of those as it is)
4) be loyal
5) refer business
6) buy something non GT on occasion
7) be patient

Not sure it matters for the 991.1 as I think the well has run dry, but certainly something to think about for the 991.2.

No link. Go make calls like I did using auto trader.com and other sources. Found a couple in the 20k range. But I'm looking for lower...and trust me its coming.

I wish I could get an RS at the kind of prices you're all talking about. In the UK it's 340k USD for a run of the mill RS. PTS is closer to 400k.

You should first start driving on the right side

I'd quite happily drive with a LHD car as it wouldn't be a daily driver. The only real world problem with it is that line of site for overtaking is a little limited and it's touch more difficult when approaching intersections.
Once you get into the continent then all is good and you could attack corners with vigour.....you know what those are right? 😎

(Obviously including stop sale) Porsche have been pushing production on 991rs very hard because of high demand, so I think we will see total production in the 3000unit range. Buyers are drying up in the $250k bracket. Dealers will have to sell at MSRP. Those dealers that speculated will take a bath. Free market works both ways.
I think it was more like 3500 991 GT3 extrapolating from the factory figures posted here.

GT3RS looks like it will be a similar number.

GT4 will also be around 3500-4000

I should think post Brexit the market might change? Who can justify a 7 figure car collection when the currency and economy are tanking? RHD cars are not easy to move outside UK, SA, NZ, AU etc. and other than UK most of those markets far more price sensitive. Just thinking out loud but by year end I'd expect your market to have changed significantly?

Just a light-hearted moment in this thread. I recently sold my Apr 2015 GT3 to a Norcal dealer. I paid MSRP at just under $145k, no LWB's, 15 months ago. This is what they're hoping to get.....

I wish I shared your views. Because so few cars are produced RHD compared, they become even more desirable.
The Brexit issue won't really cause grief until they figure out what it's all going to look like. Your average RS owner won't be impacted by any economic down turn over here, so I don't expect to see a flood of them onto the market. Even GT3'S are still 15-30% over list.
Where I live Porsche's are like flies, bloody everywhere! But ive seen more 918's in the wild than RS's. It seems like a chunk of those who got them have put them in storage.

Wow, this is so not entertaining. Why don't we just all go out and drive our Pcars.

That right there is entertaining. Get out the duster. When they are done they can give it to all the GT4's advertised for $10k over. That ship has sailed.

Are you talking WW or U.S. ?

I think your numbers are 1000 too high for the RS.

Loess seems to have the best bead on numbers.

Loess? Hello...

I made call after call, talked to either owners of independent dealers or sales managers of franchise dealers with no luck.....I paid 30 over , I'm sure it will dip , but i'm also sure spotless low mileage examples will rise in the years to come, but I could be wrong, but I was tired of looking....didn't want one with 1000 miles, I wanted brand new , and that's what I got

Who cares. Why torture yourself? You're going to absolutely love the car. Just pretend the msrp was 250k.
There, feel better?
