I know it makes people feel bad. The days of 50k,40k,30k are long gone...... and now 20k is here. MSRP will be happening soon but I think 10k is the floor and that is coming very soon.

I have been patiently waiting for MSRP build slot. I can wait further, heck I am not hurting driving my 4.0 into the ground either (21K miles as we speak).

Not necessarly

if Porsche push the button for another
5k cars
aka 991.2 RS /R equipped with the same 9A1 4.0L
(along the 5k 991.1 RS R already produced) still not able to hit the 9k rpm and totalizing 10k cars with the same 9A1 4.0 L engine

the 991.1 GT3 3.8 L 9krpm will keep the record
of being the flat6 engine they produced with highest rpm ever

then 991.1RS Vs 5000 brand new 991.2 RS/R will drop more than .1GT3

actually .1 GT3 wouldn't drop at all

and if you put a 991.2 GT3 with a 9A1 4.0L and a .2 RS 4.2L into the equation the result would be even worse for the 991.1 4.0 L RS

the only way to escape this destiny giving to .1RS some sort of uniqueness is that Porsche make
the next 991.2 GT3 and 991.2 RS only Turbo without any NA engine anymore but this doesn't look to be the road
(except maybe the .2 GT3 alone)

in few words the next 5000/10000 991.2 RS/GT3 will hammer heavily the 991.1 RS price (unless Everything goes turbo and very limited .2RS 4.2L)

ouch! I shouldn't have sold mine...(991.1 GT3)
but luckily I am 1 at large dealer for the next RS whatever will be

It only makes the current owners feel bad and we have already determined there are not that many owners so for the majority, this is awesome.

It didn't seem so terrible that the deal had to include the purchase of a Panny. But when I found out the car in question is the $260+msrp, 1 of 100 "Exclusive Series" model.................Ouch!

I did ask if it could be configured w PTS.

A: Nope.

trust me, you would much rather pay a premium over sticker upfront than get stuck with a depreciating bomb that will loose you over 100k instantly!

No proof RS are selling at 20K over. The current market is maybe around $30K at best and $40K for sure.

Here's the deal. If you paid the money for the RS the money is spent. Enjoy the car. The resale market will do what its gonna do and speculating all day long day in a day out wont change what the market is gonna do for one second.

Historically, its safe to say resale on RS's is pretty stout. No reason to believe the 991RS will be any different for many reasons including the fact it is one of the best street/track cars of all time if not the best to date.

I think the allocations we have been seeing are the 100 or so allocations that we spoke of this spring that PAG was going to provide.

About 4000 GT3 in a 3 year run.

With the special parts and materials from CF, magnesium, special cranks etc... I don't believe RS production will exceed 50% of that number in a one year run especially when they are gearing up for the new gen GT3 and GT2.

I will only flame the fire by saying that I know of private party transactions with PTS going for 70k+ over sticker.

I, like an idiot, still visit this thread which is so full of unsubstantiated bull but yet provides me a couple of minutes of entertainment. At times I've gasped in amazement that people (including me) would take much of this seriously.

BTW, because I have one coming, future values are going to soar to at least $100k over!

Now this thread needs to...

I think you are dead on here. My dealer has been pretty open with me and said that my allocation back in March was one of the 60 released by Porsche and they expected 2-3 more from the 100 that were released this summer. They got 2 in the summer. I think after this, it's done and onto the .2 series.
