Hello Porsche2018,
It might be overkill, but by practice all my cars when it gets 1,000 miles, I go to dealer for an oil change. Purpose and reason being while it is not factory recommended, I believe during break-in period, there will be some miniscule metal shavings from break-in period and want those small particles out of the engine at 1,000 miles. Oil change is a cheap way of keeping very good maintenance for your engine. After that I follow the next oil change based on the owners manual or when the engine tells me to do so. That is just me being OCD.

Oil is changed at the dealer so they use what is recommended/stated on the manual. I just checked my manual and picture is attached (for GT2RS it is Mobil 1, either SAE 5W-40 or SAE 5W-50 (both for temperature range above -13 Fahrenheit / -25 Celsius). I don't use my Porsche GT* cars late fall through early spring.
Other Porsche enthusiasts use the brand Motul. Hope that helps.

Thanks; I get where you're coming from completely. I probably will do it although I am already at 2200 miles. Though, I have to say I changed my oil on my 718 @ 2361 miles and the oil looked crystal clear and also dissected the oil filter and no shavings to speak of.......... Did you use mobile 1 0W-40?

Thanks for sharing the link. Oil change on this car is for sure not easy for a DIY. Link below was previously posted in this forum.

I sent my SA the PCA video and he showed it to their service tech and the tech said he will not need to remove the bumper to get to the oil filter. They apparently checked it out on a 2RS in the showroom. I will see what's what when the time comes.......
