GT2RS ED and first oil change
This GT2RS is TPC Racing's newest development car. We took European Delivery of this beautiful beast and drove it straight to Nürburgring, then Spa, then back to the Ring. Between the two tracks in 14 days we put on 1400 miles and gained a lot set up knowledge on this chassis to better serve our customers. Special thanks to Manthey Racing for letting us use their lift when we wanted to make setup changes. And a Very Special Thanks to Lucas Luhr, world-class multi-championship race winner, former factory driver and all around great guy and Jan Slooten for their baseline setup at their shop, Ring Police! We even got a pretty incredible fast lap around the Nordschleife with Jan Slooten in a brand new GT3RS that he and Lucas set up, so we knew Ring Police is where we wanted to go and baseline our GT2RS!
At Ring Police doing corner balance.
He's jumping on the car to settle it on the scales.
Lucas Luhr setting his baseline for the Ring.
Having a fun and productive time.
Arrived at Spa.
At Manthey.
Meeting new fast-driving friends and soaking up their track knowledge.
Snack time.
Coaching by the great Moritz Kranz.
A ship ride across the Atlantic and the car is home with 1400 miles(mostly track) and cracked windshield(from track). Its time for the first oil change.
This car requires rear bumper off to remove the carbon fiber panel, then remove the right side air inlet duct to get to the oil filter.
Bumper, fans, and panel off.
The air inlet duct requires brute strength to remove. Its on there unnecessarily tight for a plastic parts that's supported at both ends.
We modified the right side air inlet so that it can "snap off" fairly easy. This way we don't need to remove the rear bumper and panel for future oil changes.
We are still taken away by the entire experience from wonderful people we met, to the setup knowledge of what chassis likes, to the striking details of this engineering marvel.

Past GT2s had Mobil 5W50 as factory fill. What about this beast?

Why do you figure they made it such a PITA to remove the snorkel? Any risks?
Seems like an incredible amount of work, for no good reason, removing bumper, lower tray, etc... risk of damage of the bumper, etc. Those tabs get weaker and weaker every time you remove it.
We get this first oil change covered in US and im hoping the service manager allows me to take the snorkel home for a picture and i modify, lol.
