What is this? GT2 Cup?
Would they usually camouflage an intended race car? Wing looks way too big to be a road car..

The exhaust configuration says it's a NA car.
The full race cage and slicks and the giant wing means it's a race car.
The lack of a wider body and other aero bits means it's not the new GT3R, or RSR for that matters.
The current Cup car is 2 years old, could be the new one, or it could be a new car designed specially for the GT4 class.

Aprox 1 liter water for 5 min heavy track, decent warm day. My Dunlops was shot before the car reached 1800km. 3 trackdays (2 days was only half-ish). Currently waiting for my OPC to fit Cup2 N2 and new geo. Back on track tomorrow!

I'd be so happy if they built a GT4 racing 911!! I'd be all over that.

Well, a new 718 Cayman race car was also tested at Monza. A GT2 RS engine would have to be heavily restricted for the GT4 class. Then the base price of a road-going GT2 RS would already put it into lower GT3 race car territory, short of a R8 LMS - far beyond GT4 costs, especially with race car parts on top of it. And beyond, I recall some negative comments about other manufacturers basically bringing GT3's into GT4 - why would Porsche respond by doubling down on that now? A Cup car, perhaps for the Supercup only, seems more likely. Or perhaps just some one-off to test the drive train for racing applications in the future.
"It’s clear the target is for Am cars and some of the new entries, from my point of view, are beyond the line and over the edge," Walliser said. "They are stripped down GT3 cars and we want GT4 cars. The idea is low running costs and that makes it more interested. It’s not a question if you’re a second faster or not. We need good competition." http://sportscar365.com/imsa/ctscc/p...-car-for-2019/

I know it sounded turbo-ed, but it's using the NA car's mufflers.
A GTE class car means the GT3RSR, which they already moved to mid engined, this one doesn't seem like a mid engine car, but also without the diffusers and whatnots.
A GTD class car is the GT3R, but this car is missing all the aero bits and the wider fenders. It is the oldest race car after all, They had just refreshed the Cup car not too long ago and the RSR is only 1 year old.
So even if assuming they are doing a testing of the GTE RSR replacement, they won't learn much without the aero grip.
Then they also have the entry level Cayman GT4CS for the GT4 class. There doesn't seem to be room for ANOTHER race car...............
Unless of course this will be a full time track car for customers. Not built to any regulations per se, which was the original idea of the GT4CS before the MR version which was then certified to race in the GT4 series.
Walliser did say they were surprised by the reception of the GT4CS back then, and they found a untapped segment. and will explore it.

Actually on second thought, perhaps this is the track toy race car Walliser is talking about.
Built in the spirit of the GT4CS, stripped out street car body but with full race cage and equipment. Using production engine and gearbox to keep maintenance down. A Cup car engine needs 100hr rebuilt, gearbox I believe it is 60hrs.
The GT4CS's production engine only calls for oil changes every 5000km. And no engine/gearbox rebuilts, just regular maintenance cycles.
My guess now? PDK-S transmission coupled with the the engine from the Turbo S, not the GT2RS. But that centre muffler still baffled me.

Not as hardcore as a cup car nor all crazy maintenance schedules , but much more track focused than street GT. Yes, could be the prefect track day toy. This was exactly why I bought a Radical RXC, to achieve this. I would be all in for one of these!
