The guy scratched his PTS GT2RS while driving the **** out of it on the first month of production at the Ring. I don’t believe he is living a life that should be pitied. Things happen. I’m proud of him. I believe no one was hurt and he won’t have to sell the car for scrap because he can’t afford the repairs. Insignificant blemish on a life well lived.
September 24 and 25 2015 were some of the best days of my life. Followed by 4 more weeks of 10 tracks, 20+ track days and 6000 miles before Shipping it Stateside.
Could have gone wrong 100 different ways. If Porsche would sell me a GT2RS or GT3RS it would be a repeat except I’d take 6 months instead...

I heard that this was during Touristfahrten today and that the driver was "really pushing" (photographer I bought photos from shared that he saw the crash first hand happen at the corner where he was standing)
Feel terrible for the driver and the car. Hope driver is ok all things considered...

It was oil on the track on the exit of karusell.

danish car means:
EU MSRP
+25% VAT
+140% luxury tax on cars.
makes it a 1,1Mio Dollar car. (if you are able to buy without market adjustment)
for sure he was/is insured.
but also "no big" damage.
nobody got hurt.
race it. break it. fix it. repeat.
to the driver.

He took delivery of the car on Thursday or Friday then drove it straight to the Ring, it was wrecked that weekend. I've heard there was a mini cooper involved that ended up on its roof....(haven't seen photo's of that yet) Crappy situation, just glad everyone is OK.

Well, I'm not an expert on estimating stuff like this so I'm guessing. Of course it might be 2 seconds for me but maybe 0.5s for Lars Kern
Hatzenbach 1 no longer has the bump that before unsettled the car so you can definitely go faster there.
New tarmac in Hohe Acht definitely faster and safer.
And the tarmac in Brünnchen 1 also enables higher entrance speed and safer approach.

So MPSC R tires worth approx 9 secs on Ring over MPSC N2, which means GT2 RS would easily be into 6:30’s on these tires with Estre at the wheel. It’d be great if Porsche went back and reset their 2 RS time....
