Common misconception that the water is injected into the internal combustion engine. It is in the BMW M4 GTS. But in the GT2RS, it's just sprayed onto the outside of the intercoolers - totally external to the engine (and even the intercoolers)...

Glad to hear it's being sprayed on the outside of the intercooler. If that's the case, distilled water should be a non-issue.

I would think the way forward would be to buy one of those dioionizer systems which removes all the minerals that way you could just hook it up to a hose and get your dioinized water as much as you need. They are marketed for rinsing you car. I have no idea how effective they are, but short of ordering medical grade purified water, I don’t know that there are standards for such things.

Good ones of those would be good enough. They get water to below 10ppm, making it impossible to gunk up nozzles or intercoolers even with years of use. Another option is just buying distilled water at costco/wallmart or even home depot - cheaper than bottled water, actually.

Or... just get a good water softener that will pull all the calcium out. Better yet, get a reverse osmosis system without a mineralization cartridge and create close to distilled water all day long.

Some people have no taste or poor taste, so they need help or risk a shameful mistake. Entire industries rely on this. I'll see myself out, thanks.

No disagreement with you on that one.

But the problem, you see, is that the same people who "have no taste or poor taste" will be participating in any such poll.

Porsche should have a "surprise me" option for those that can't decide for themselves or afford to pay their decorator to choose. It would be a -$10k discount BUT you might get an oddball PTS color with strange CXX options...oh so rare.
