OK - this car barn thing is starting to turn into a project and I am starting to assemble plans, action items and questions. One question I thought some here may be able to answer is will/to what extent will tires (even clean/dry) mark up wood floors - especially when turning back and forth as is necessary during parking maneuvering. The main car parking area at the upper level of the barn will be where the current pool and ping pong tables are and the space in between (about 33 feet wide - so probably 3-4 cars parked side by side). Will this completely mark up the wood with use? I drive my cars so there will be daily coming and going. Is there some sort of wood treatment/coating/clear epoxy I can use on that section to preserve the look but avoid leaving rubber marks (or at least make cleanup very quick and simple)? Any other ideas? I'll declutter the space a lot from what it looks like now and would really prefer to keep the clean/rustic aesthetic including wood floor vs adding racedeck or something...
Maybe consider that pop together plastic tile where the cars will park, or the rubber mats like you'd use in a gym? Tires will def mark the wood floors so you'll prob have to cover it if you don't want it ruined.

I have a 3 car garage and took out two lally columns, bought a shed to put all of our crap in and refinished everything...compounded all drywall, 31 recessed lights, floor. Still waiting for cabinet system from New Age. Rain hot & cold water and drain, along with hot and cold spigots for winter car washing. I can now fit 4 cars wide. Not nearly as fancy as some of the garages here.

my first real car was a 98 TV E36 M3...i so loved that car...did some basic Dinan stuff...traded on an 02 E39 M5...guy totaled the car
for years i've looked for an e36 TV M3, found a few, almost pulled the trigger, but had this feeling it would be like dating my best friend's sister...just a little weird, so i never did because i figured it would feel like an impersonator...wasnt my car
so wish i had it, but alas first world problems
my garage is almost done so i'll post some pics/video eventually

Car Cave is in its "Winter Mode" with the cars all quiet and getting detailed and miscellaneous maintenance catch ups done.
Putting a golf simulator in the upstairs office area simply because there is so much extra room and winters are plenty long here in the great white north...

Nice garage. I'm in search of that Porsche Crest Light. Haven't had much luck finding one, similar but not quite like that. It looks older, using an incandescent bulb. I collect old signs as a little side hobby.
