Trying to figure out garage accommodations for this 9 ton war machine. It's roughly 7.5ft wide and 7.5 ft tall, almost 20 ft long. With real estate measured by the square inch here in the Bay Area, I've got vehicles scattered across three properties. For now it will live under a cheap cammo tarp from Harbor Freight. Thinking it would look good next to a 4 post bendpak with 911's over/under. And yes, as pointed out by the BaT Peanut Gallery, the 50cal gun barrel (mock) needs some viagra.

What are your plans for this? A memorabilia or will it be used or converted? I looks quite intimidating

Just rotate the barrel 180°.

Does it actually run? Looks pretty cool. I'm guessing you could park it for free at your local VFW.

It definitely runs... I got a ride in it a couple hours ago!

Yes it runs, fairly well actually. Rudy and his family, my 11yo and his buddies, my 15yo and her friends, all got a ride yesterday afternoon. Then, a curious neighbor stopped by, and wanted to talk all about it. I offered them a ride and they were thrilled. We took off down the street and suddenly there we three of our local police SUVs in my side view mirror, lights flashing. No sirens, no guns drawn, just a nervous neighbor calling 911 to report "an armored military vehicle with a machine gun on top". I pulled over, provided license and brief history of the half track, and showed them a photo of my USMC dad in Korea with fellow GIs, and told them he drove a half track in that war, and I was now proud to own an 80yo 9 ton war machine. They were very curious about the half track, especially the armor, and loved looking under the hood. They thought the USMC Korea connection was great. They asked if they could take a photo of themselves in front of it. I said sure, and asked if I could also have one with them. Big fun.

Plan is to keep it, maintain it, add to its completeness and authenticity where I can, and do the parade circuit.

Be fun to put it on the dyno, right? Both before and after the Powerstroke 7.3L transplant!

Hey @TexasPorschelover - tried PMing you but your inbox is full. What's the height of your ceiling? Your garage has inspired me to redo mine. I'm not sure I can get the fill lift in though.

Default Das Autohaus is nearly complete

Hello fellow P-car fans and garage enthusiasts!
It’s been over 2yrs in the making, but here are some pix of my garage (Das Autohaus) with work/entertainment space above (Das Herrenloft).
Enjoy, happy to take questions about design, materials, and artistry.
