That barn looks a LOT like my next door neighbor's barn, to the point where I had to check the details to confirm that it's not their barn.

If your location address is correct, it’s about 20 min away from you so swing by some time!

I just turned our barn into a party barn and I posted the stalls on Facebook Market Place and sold them very quickly. They even came out and took them down. I would give that a try before you pay to take them down.

Yeah, the seller and listing agent were both telling me I could get some money selling those stable doors/partitions. Especially since they are brand new - no animals have been in that barn since the Reno. I took a bunch of measurements and lidar scans of the entire space today and think I can get get 8 cars comfortably downstairs and at least 5-6 upstairs (not counting lifts, which I have at least one already. Plus a 3 car LARGE carport and a separate crappy barn I could build into a new garage with apartment on top. We have 9 acres so plenty of room!

So we know have 8 cars and room for at least 16 - before building anything… this is a dangerous situation. I also checked zoning and we can add a helicopter pad but we do not have 5000 ft of flat land to build a runway for the family plane sadly…

OK - this car barn thing is starting to turn into a project and I am starting to assemble plans, action items and questions. One question I thought some here may be able to answer is will/to what extent will tires (even clean/dry) mark up wood floors - especially when turning back and forth as is necessary during parking maneuvering. The main car parking area at the upper level of the barn will be where the current pool and ping pong tables are and the space in between (about 33 feet wide - so probably 3-4 cars parked side by side). Will this completely mark up the wood with use? I drive my cars so there will be daily coming and going. Is there some sort of wood treatment/coating/clear epoxy I can use on that section to preserve the look but avoid leaving rubber marks (or at least make cleanup very quick and simple)? Any other ideas? I'll declutter the space a lot from what it looks like now and would really prefer to keep the clean/rustic aesthetic including wood floor vs adding racedeck or something...

I also need to add a half bath as there is none currently. Hopefully not a huge project and can be done before spring.

yes you could put snap tiles down, or just enjoy as is, the wear and tear will add character, and if you wanna redo it, redoing the hardwood is easy

It won’t bother it. Maybe if you use some type of tire softener on your rubber. But I doubt you do.

prolly not a good enough reason to justify the money lol but I did start buying the foam inlays about 2 years ago and had them in a dewalt tool box Finnally got them in a sonic box recently and just really liked the build quality and size . They are huge

Very excited to start moving dirt on this build soon. Planning for a 3 car detached with one drive-through bay and one high bay with space for a lift. Future apartment space above.
