Very good point Nick. I'm betting they have some cheap Syrian labour working on stripping all that gear off (alternators, air con pumps, coil packs, manifolds with cats) as we speak so it can re enter the supply chain (new RS etc). Only the engines that never saw mileage of course. Must be over 500 of those. The blocks they are probably slowly working to update with the new fasteners so they can use some of these as swap engines for future failures. The engines that had seen various levels of use (some had 20k km on them already and track work) Im sure they have been testing, stripping down to study etc as data points for their race programme.
None of these engines will resurface in a new model IMO.

If they can update/rebuild the removed engines I'm sure they would sell them - I purchased a rebuilt 3.8L C2S engine last year, if they're keeping these I'm sure they're keeping the GT3 units. If they start selling them I would probably buy one to stick in a Cayman

My guess, it's it. 991.1 GT3 body with weight trimmed off. Manual gearbox too.

This was spotted near Stuttgart. Notice the little blue circle on the pillar?
