Rennsport V Report...Let's start with the talk of Andreas Preuninger!

I don't think Eduardo (and others there) actually posted this stating it was a press release of all new info? He (and others) simply compiled a recap of what was discussed to help clarify some of the speculation that has existed past and current.

Very much appreciate Eduardo, for this post and all the valuable information that was conveyed by fellow members, for those of us not fortunate enought to attend..
-Any canucks in for a cruise to RnR 2016?

He also mentioned that they were ramping up production of the GT4 but only a bit because not all their suppliers can do so.
Finally, when asked about the GT4 manual recommending a 2000 mi break-in he said something akin to: "people driving their GT4 or GT3 straight from the dealership to the track are hurting their cars". He then explained his own recommendation (admitting 2000 was a bit too much):
- For the first 500 km (300 mi), never go over 5,000 rpm
- Then increase the max rpm by 500 increments every 200 mi (not 100% sure on that distance), which should get you to 1,300 mi or so.

1) First 500 km - 4000 RPM max
2) Every 100 km after that increase by 200 RPM

i see the point to clarify more than 1600GT4
There was really someone speculating on GT4 as limited??
The only limited so far is 997 RS 4.0
the rest is limited by demand
they will not improve that much the usual little gain on .2 GT3 and RS ?
To me means only they will keep producing current ones but
the name
All RnD on Turbo and 992
NA is over

IIRC he suggested none beyond planned forecast ie no increase in total global numbers (my interpretation) as vendors and parts are bottleneck. I suppose if they had already planned to dole out a few more as yet unassigned allocations from the start these would go ahead. But my recollection is that PAG planned around 2000 worldwide. And I suspect that that's it.
AP said of current strong demand that they would love to build more cars, but they temper that with production realities and wishing to keep the GT cars somewhat more exclusive (ie. not 10000 cars built). So I doubt we'll see them flooding the market with a ton of unexpected allocations. The last thing he wants to see, he said, is unsold GT cars sitting at dealerships.
Other bits I recall. He seems to recommend oil change at 1000-1500 km as part of break in. GT engines different from "normal" 911. With thinner Motorsport valve rings (?) and other components that really need proper break in. Discouraged 9k off the lot!
He also feels current gearing on gt4 is best compromise (despite criticism gearing too long) to render acceptable emissions, autobahn high speed usage, etc.
I also asked him to sign my manual a couple days ago. Plus his Motorsport boss and vp (Walliser) and vp customer centre (Frenkel) and about 30 past and present drivers (many of whom gave really great interviews) did the same! How cool is that of them to do!! Super awesome people, all of them!! Overall I'm super impressed by the generosity and time offered by these ladies and gentlemen. Apart from very interesting discussions we even got a few cool gifts like pens and notebooks, booklets, and a North American exclusive cars board / plate from Barbara Boeckenhoff, Florian Truffner, and the porsche tent staff. Big thank you to them!
And of course it was so cool to meet many interesting people involved in making these cars. Big thanks to Eduardo for letting me in on some interesting conversations with Frenkel and designer Thorsten Klein and others. So many great opportunities to meet and hear from the real inner circle involved in creating the cars we love! Thank you RRV for an amazing few days!! PAG you guys rock!!

I posted this in the GT4 thread "GT4 Production Increase and No PDK":
March Panorama Editors Notes (page 6) - "Recent meetings within Porsche resulted in a decision to raise production (of the GT4) by 50%".
This statement was published prior to the press intro in Portugal.
In the April Panorama issue which included the Portugal GT4 press intro article (page 56) - "In the meantime, it looks like Porsche will build about 2500 GT4's, with about 1000 to 1200 earmarked for the North American market."
So, if the original production target was 1800, then an additional 50% would be 900 for a total of about 2700.
If AP is today saying 2500-3000, that seems to be consistent with what was communicated back in March.

at least 4000 GT4 has been always loudly said by Pag and AP as well
no news here
The only limited so far is 997 RS 4.0
the rest is limited by demand*
or vice-versa initially limited
to raise demand

+1 - I always wanted to get walnut trim in my RS.
Every one of AP's typical marketing comments is aimed at protecting a car currently in production, so it'll all change again I'm sure...
