You could go and have a track walk at the Südschlefe - the old part of Nürburgring. Let me know and I'll send you a map.
At the top of Hohe Acht there is an old tower built 100 years ago: Very good view from there of the Eifel mountains. If weather is clear you can see all the way to Köln.

The next time you stay at the ring with your girl, try the hotel agnesenhof some kilometers away! I like it much more instead the hotel tiergarten and the lindner...
If you are really bored today, you could go some kilometers west and visit the "mosel" and have some good wine there...
An other good point on your short-list could be some fries in belgium. I don`t like them, but the belgians are said to have the best fries here in europe - with raw onions on top... (well, i studied in aachen, directly on the border to belgium and the netherlands, not that far away from the ring)
The netherlands with some legal coffee-shops are also not that far away but be aware of valuables leaving in your car when parking in Maastricht :-)
Have fun here on european tracks...
It has become cold these days here in northern europe and i`ve to drive 400km to the RBR with a heatless 964 friday afternoon...
regards from munich

Thought the 'legal' coffee shops were Koffee shops are with a K?
Peter - be careful riding curbs with tyres worn to or at the cord, very likely to have a blow out. Sorry if teaching to suck eggs.

Dijon
Trackcar and Mecca
Well I can say to Trakcar we had fun in Dijon quite a lots of tracks behind each other. Nice drive
Back in Jan I decided to sell the 991 GT3 as I was only using for track which was a pitty. Here in Switzerland the laws have changed and if you get caught you just might end up in jail. So I got a 997 Turbo from 2007 which was prepared and then further enhanced with suspension Ohlins. Really happy with the choice, ok it is not as pretty as the 991 GT3 but does the job on the track especially that all interior has been removed.
Hope you enjoy Magny-Cours, it is a really nice track but some hard braking. The reference time for a similar car I think is 1mn55.
Cheers.

Great timing and drive, I am going November 21 with Tinseau TrackDays and it wil be difficult to beat you...just kidding
Magny Cours is a great track, not too bad on the tires at all. Still managed to cord the left rear but that one had been on the right rear at Dijon. Drove my *** off today. With Chris in the car I managed a couple of 2:54's straight away and was pretty happy with that. Than I got another ride with the coach, I scared him a bit and I was a bit pissed at myself for trying to hard under pressure.
So he got out and I focused and squeezed off a few of 1:52's and got my best lap of 1.519.
I finally understood the track, put a good one together and without the extra weight it worked:TRAKCAR Magny Cours 1:51 - YouTube
We did another session after that with Chris in the car and repeated some 1.52's but called it a day with the pads running low and hot and the left rear tire cording :-)
Just got to the Hotel Am Tiegarten and Pistenklause :-) :-)
Tomorrow rest day, maybe lap the Ring with the van and give the RS a new setup, pads and tires to get it ready for Hockenheim Friday.

So we did meet!
The Martini GT3 must have been there the day prior or after with another group.
It was fun chasing the Turbo beast and I learned something :-)
Helped me get to the 1.28 at Dijon.
You can beat my 1.51 at Magny Cours, your a good driver!

Sorry for the confusion Peter but glad you met.
I didn't realise you had sold the GT3 Phillipe!!
I made an assumption as I remember your GT3 had Martini stripes.
The turbo goes well. It's quicker than your GT3!!

There is a trackday on the Nordschleife with open pit lane (full lap) coming Saturday from 13.00 to 17.00.
Weather forecast is great for Saturday!
Anyone joining? I will be there with my Cayman GT4.
