The drive home unfortunately had some gendarmes involved but that's France... I'll get in touch for the HANS!

Hopefully just a warning? Or at least no points.
Is there a European version of Theticketclinic.com?

.
Nothing disastrous, 170kph resulted in a €90 fine. They don't have a points system in place yet for foreigners passing France.

171kph would have resulted in an immediate driving ban and €750 fine.

No such thing as theticketclinic here on mainland Europe afaik, it exists in UK.

In New Zealand 150kmph gets your car confiscated for 28 days immediately, you loose your license immediately for 6 months and pay around 500 Euro in fines.

170 kmph they lock you up and through away the key!

They are barbarians in NZ!

Magny-Cours... Amazing facility but some overzealous driving from some locals is resulting in session closures after 10 minutes!

The chap who closed session 3, spinning at a hairpin turn doing 30mph... Clearly the horseshoes on the rear panel aren't doing their job

The New Zealanders are the cousins, ours do all of what Macca described at 130kph... Absolutely nasty

I will not complain about the french police anymore, but it still remains a shame given their brilliant autoroutes.

What happens if you drive 170 km/h in Switzerland?

It really was a pleasure driving back to Stuttgart today with no speed limits on many sections. Gonna be a shock driving home from the Denver airport tomorrow - especially realizing the stark difference in left lane discipline in the US (i.e. None)

In a 80 zone , you loose your license for 2 years, your car will be taken and can be sold, + 1 year jail suspended sentence + fine according to your revenue
If in on the highway ( limit 120 km/h ), you will miss the ' criminal offense' and loose your license for 3 month + fine according to your revenue
