Wow, I went to the track to clean up the car, add oil and stuff only to find out Porsche Ckub Geneva is here!

Paid for half s day and lapping LOL
Awesome.

Porsche support here is changing the rear bar to stiff, see what that does :-)

Are the wheels satin finish as you expected, instead of the usual silver with clear coat?

Yes, matte brighter silver than normal silver.

Yes, I had planned 3 days here, the first one got snowed / rained out but yesterday was great. Today I only did 2 sessions because this track kills a set of tires in 4 sessions. I tried calling the same tire company we went to last night but they are closed. I'll try to make a few session tomorrow but the fronts are about to cord now that I pushed a bit. Ran a few 1:29's and called it a day so I can do a few laps tomorrow. They Porsche guy listened to me and did the opposite of what I expected; full stiff front and left the rear bar alone. It was less understeer on the fast corners, more in the slow corner so I had to start trail braking more and it worked well enough that I left the bar full stiff in front.

Tomorrow we go to Magny Course so lets hope there is a tire changer nearby that can help swapping front Monday morning..

1:29's I could go a bit faster but its a tricky track and if I push harder the tires will be gone in 3 laps:

These seats are a little wide for my *** and a a bit narrow for shoulders, so I have to brace myself all the time. On bumpy tracks sometimes I get lucky and the belt locks. Feel naked without Hans and no harness my back is getting a workout but it's doable.
I'm curious about the comment regarding the seats being too narrow for your shoulders. I always need to buy bigger shirts to fit my shoulders and have them tailored to fit everywhere else. A friend of mine has a PTS car coming with the LWB seats. I'll definitely try them out. I can't see ordering an RS (mind you, my deposit is for a .2) without the LWB, but I plan to put a good amount of miles on the car and fitting in the seat is "slightly" important.

I finally took the seat cushion out, now it fits much better.
Its also because I only have the floppy 3 point seat belt, no harness to strap me in the seat properly.
The seats are bigger though for smaller guys it will be to big I think.

looks like you were pushing much, much harder- the steering input has now become evident and is probably why you tyre wear is now much higher... if there more to come expect more wear as you use all the slip angle and slide more.

I completely agree it looks that way but, I'm not pushing harder than any other track.
It's just that kind of track. It's harder on this track to balance the car, make it turn and stop and accelerate off-camber, trying to keep the car on line...

I'll have a fellow Australian country man aboard today so that may have been my best laps.

That's a very good lap time for there Peter. The track has some good opportunities for speed. Back straight sees you over 255kmph. Shame its so hard on tyres. At $2000+ USD a set it would be a very expensive hobby if that was your local track!

For sure!
The local Porsche said that CUP cars on slicks and semi-slicks like the MPSC2 don't make it a day on a set here.. Just crazy coarse.

Peter,

Besides the Ring, what has been your favorite circuit so far?
