Looks viper to me.

It might be 'Conda'; it might
be 'Viper'; it might be 'Signal
Green'!

Identifying the color in that
particular photo will not help
you as much as you think.
Even if current owner tells
you the color, it was probably
repainted at some point. Did
the restorer faithfully get the
factory color formula correct?

My suggestion is that you
explore the 'greens' already
approved for the 991 by PAG
& then try to see those colors
in person to finalize what works
best for your eyes.

Thanks Eduardo. My SA was planning on getting those panels so I could see/compare in the flesh. I know pictures are subjective to camera, lighting and even post processing.

The interesting thing is that indeed every sample has a label....
in the back!

***

But I am developing an 'app' via 'Color Grab' that allows you
to use your phone camera to just point & focus on any of the
colors on the 'Wailing Wall' & it will tell you instantaneously
the color's name & the Porsche color code for it. It will be
exclusive to Rennlisters. But I first need access to the PTS
'Wailing Wall'. And PAG is trying to keep me away from it &
anyone that is a decision maker regarding PTS at Porsche!

A question to those who know:

So, you asked for PTS and maybe made a CXX request... Now, how do you know if your dealer's making progress or not?

Is there a general workflow for these processes that can be shared with the uninitiated so that they can track progress?

I had this naïve idea that I'd be having a meeting with somebody outside of the dealer to explore the feasibility of a specific CXX request, or be waiting for samples of my preferred PTS color(s).

Is there a typical flow to these things for non-VIPs, or is the process changing so much that it's more of a hit and hope?

Porsche 'Exclusive Manufaktur' is a profit center
at PAG. 'Exclusive' has two representatives in
Los Angeles & two representatives in Atlanta,
besides a manager that supervises the operation
from her office in Atlanta. They are there to
answer your questions & coordinate your custom
ordering experience. Think of them as your
employees...you are helping to pay for their
salaries & benefits with each new Porsche
purchased by customers like you. Your dealer
might be knowledgeable & helpful on these
matters. Or clueless if they seldom deal with
customizing cars, CXX options & PTS.

So please do not go through this
custom ordering process without the
direct & personal assistance of an
'Exclusive Manufaktur' representative,
either in the US or Europe.

You can let your dealer make the introductions
to PCNA's 'Exclusive' personnel, or go directly
to the source (see link below). But don't ever
go very far in customizing your Porsche order
WITHOUT reaching out directly to an 'Exclusive'
representative. They might provide tips or tell
you about new options you might be able to
order. And although 'Exclusive' doesn't run PTS,
they will know more about the 'windows for
ordering it' than your local dealer. So caveat
emptor & take advantage of the resources that
are available to you with the custom ordering
process!

This is incredibly helpful - thank you Eduardo!

I get the feeling my dealer wants to go though this themselves as a go-between and then present something to me at the end (or come back with a "No") and I would really rather be part of the process.

You've given me every reason I need to change the process and talk to Exclusive directly.

As always, super helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and right on point

I'll add a tidbit. The exclusive rep knows when to "lock" a PTS color onto a car, the fact that paint needs to be ordered within certain scenarios if you want to do the crazy expensive PTS interior paint which requires extra paint, and other weird little details like which sadlery will do which kind of color thread (as I was told the rep herself)... so, i almost feel like connecting with one of them for some CXX, actually wedges that little door open.. the door which gives opens up to the world of PTS rules. In a very round about way.. CXX can lead to a better PTS chance almost.. or at least some clarity.

best of luck... and may your MSRP skyrocket (i mean, IT WILL) (that's a PTS viper green emoji by the way)
