I wish I knew of CJ's PCCB break in procedure for PCCB's before my last pad change. Not willing to roll the dice on 30 k.

Girodiscs from Clark solved the problem.

What's CJ break in procedure? Do you have a link ?

Resurrecting this thread with a cross post from the GT4 forum...

Took my car in for the 2 year intermediate service and while in there asked them to do a wear read on my rotors. Readings below (FYI each rotor has 3 measurement points)

Rotor---Max---Current---Min---%Worn
LF-------49-----48.0------36----7.7
LF-------50-----48.9------37----8.5
LF-------62-----61.1------46----5.6

RF-------64-----63.1------47----5.3
RF-------60-----59.2------44----5.0
RF-------63-----61.4------46----9.4

LR-------55-----47.7------42----56.2
LR-------56-----49.0------43----53.8
LR-------53-----45.4------41----63.3

RR-------57-----49.4------43----54.3
RR-------54-----46.7------41----56.2
RR-------58-----50.6------44----52.9

The car has 13k miles, 3k of those on the 4L, and 6-8 track days running original stock pads, SRF fluid, and traction control on. Front readings are awesome (avg 7% worn), rear readings are... terrible (avg 56% worn!!!). Measurements were taken with rotors on the car and calipers in place.

Could this be the result of PTV going hog wild on my rear rotors? Maybe a worn diff? I've felt PTV kick in a few times on the track and in the twisties on tight turns where the car seems to suddenly pull into the apex harder after I've already finished turning in... or maybe that's just my imagination....

Has anyone else done a carbon reading on their PCCB rotors yet? Anyone ever get PCCBs replaced under warranty for premature wear?

Rears are definitely due to PTV.

The difference seems very huge! Maybe we could get some more input from other guys as well if anyone has measured?

The max readings per rotor are same for all current gen PCCB’s or are they car specific? E.g. Would max readings on my car be same os yours or do they vary?
Thanks!

Do you track with any of TC or SC on? SC in particular puts your brakes thru the paces.

That said even with both off you’ll see more wear in the rear than the fronts. It’s just how our cars were designed—smaller rotors in the back get worked harder.

How would one go about obtaining warranty on Rotors?

You wouldn't, at least not for wear-and-tear, even for something that you might consider "premature".

Newbie Question: What are the top choices for brake pads that are "plug and play". I.E. replacement pads for PCCB rotors/calipers.

Strange you had such wear of your rear rotors. Hard to explain by driving style or whether the nannies are on or off. I had 32 track days on my '14 GT3 (about 3,000 track miles) and my fronts were still about 15-20% and the rears 40% left when I sold the car in June. I track with all the nannies on. The rear pads usually wear slightly faster, getting about 8 track days on the OEM pads.

Looks like a good idea swapping oem rear pads for softer ones

But why doesn't that happen with iron brakes? My front to rear ratio is 3 to 1 (3 front pads or rotors per one rear) and I run with nannies on about 2/3 of the time (and PTV is always on).

Maybe something else?

Out of about half a dozen of heavily tracked gt3s I know of very closely, none see rears wear more than fronts. Why would they, other than for TC or PTV? With ediff rear brakes do not have that much to do unless the driver is riding TC all the time.

My experience on PCCBs with a 2016 GT3RS with 8,100 total miles and almost 1,000 track miles averages LF - 75%, RF - 81%, LR - 40% and RR - 73%. Switched to OEM cast iron.
