Here is a Porsche document on how to measure rotors -- no need to remove them from the car. Find a dealer who can do it for you; your may have to ask for the service tech that has been trained on the 918 assuming your dealer has sold one or two of them.

Not on GT3 or GT3RS, but on my Panamera Turbo (which I occasionaly track), the RSC1 pads worked just fine where the OEM pads cooked into chunky clods. They disintegrated where the RSC1's just take it.

Temperature tolerance seems superior for RSC1.

Only downside of RSC1 is a "little more" squeal, but only sometimes.

These pads work with pccb? And do you think they will cause more rotor wear? (More heat to burn away carbon)

Tracking is for fun. Not worries, nor learning those complicated instrument and procedure to determine the pccb serviceability - which can still be a mystery even after all these...

RB offers comprehensive brake options to pccb (part or system):

1. Swap to iron rotors (retain OE calipers or switch to RB calipers)
http://www.racingbrake.com/category-s/7351.htm

2. Replace to Surface Transforms more durable and lower cost CCM-X rotors.
http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-CCM-Re...por-crk-01.htm

3. Transform your pccb to RB-CCB, and race like Corvette ZR1 and Camaro Z28 owners.

http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-CCB-Sy...ccb-por-01.htm

Any of these solutions costs only fraction of pccb, and are ready to ship.

Anyone want to buy the PCCB tester and rent it out for $100 a pop?

I have a 991 Turbo S so it's a little different but I went through RSC1 pads after 5 track days, mostly at T-hill and Laguna Seca, and my CCB discs showed 35-38% wear. I replaced them with iron from Girodisc. I will put OEM pads back on when I sell car.

I can't tell any weight difference after changing out the PCCBs for GiroDisc. It might take a bit more pedal pressure with DS2500 pads but I never had any fade. Plan to use DS1.11 in the Spring.

Thanks PeirreTT, and thank you Mr. Peter. I hope the information can help other track enthusiasts with their pad choices.

Hello LoloM. I didn't notice any difference in weight while driving with the Girodiscs. I also installed Race Technologies RE-10 pads with the swap. I just did a track day at Laguna Seca which is very hard on brakes and I didn't get any fade. One thing I did notice is that I kept digging into the ABS because the iron setup is more linear in pedal pressure to stopping force and I was still using CCB pedal stomp method so I have to adjust my braking technique. My braking g's felt about the same and for the piece of mind knowing my consumables cost has probably gone way down the conversion seems worth it to me.

After a lot of time, research and "conversations" with techs, PCNA, " brake guys" etc my sense is the pads are the problem. The pads seem to become hard and or glazed after a few good track days. They also show signs of degradation on front axle. They become very noisy and sound abrasive which I am sure is causing premature rotor wear. I wish I knew of CJ's PCCB break in procedure for PCCB's before my last pad change. Not willing to roll the dice on 30 k.

Girodiscs from Clark solved the problem.

Cheers
