Thank you for posting lead-bearing data. And may I ask how much the pads ran you?

And you disks that you post the measurements about, are the edges still smooth or is there chipping?

Thanks again for this.

No chipping at all, the rotors are very smooth and look almost new. I can see a few small areas that are lighter in color that I have been told are evidence that carbon is coming out of the rotor due to high heat oxidizing it during track use but that has not been confirmed by a Porsche service tech.

I will rely on the densitometer reading as to when to replace the rotors. I al think about converting to iron brakes in the Spring, and am looking at all options including a conversion to OEM iron -- this would be at a couple thousand dollar premium.

Here are photos of my pads - 7 mm front and 6 mm rear; these look like it was time to change them out - 1,626 track miles out of 11,038 total miles; front pads are first photo, then rears:

See the latest RB/ST CCM-X rotors on GTR in action at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana with temperature analysis.

Third time is the charm, drove the car to Auto Club Speedway and drove her home. Shaved about 1 sec from my previous personal best. RB caliper and ST rotor functioned flawlessly. Rotor temperature still in check:

Before track

After:

The 649C paint definitely left a mark, was able to wipe off 760c and above with a shop towel. And The Genesis is again at D yellow between 580-720C

Still doing 0.8-0.9 g brake force, so those rotor are getting a work out. ABS kick in hard at 1:47 mark.

Going to Laguna Seca next Friday, so I will do pad measurements after that. That course and the cork screw should be hard on the brakes and less straights to cool off the rotor. Will report back.

Iron conversion:

These OE alternative/replacement rotors have been shipping to US/Canada and Europe track racers.

We support track enthusiasts from parts replacement/upgrade to a complete brake system upgrade.

Default Decision Time

Update on my PCCBs. I have reached the recommended wear limit on two readings of the left front. I'm tempted to have them remeasured, as there was a significant change from the December measurements. There seems to be a great deal of variability, as some measurements increase. The recommended wear limit is the wear limit plus 5. Despite these measurements the rotors look perfect.
My rears remain in good shape, despite the fact that I leave PSM and TC on the track. I guess I don't have a very heavy foot.
The question is: How soon should I get the rotors replaced?

Maybe just wait until the RS arrives?

I want to say David probably has closer to 4-5x that, based on his previous readings.

I'm also confused. David, 6 track days and you need new rotors? Did I read that correctly? I thought you had many more days on circuit than that with this car.

I had to re-read the chart a couple of times, but it says that he's had 6 track days/511 miles since December 2015. Total track mileage is well in excess of that, although it would be useful if he would post the number to avoid confusion.
