This is correct...possible the dealers meter is broken, or never replaced it when it did fail.

IMO This rotor is toast and will start to disintegrate more, the integrity is gone. Ive seen this many times before when CC disc gives up, not with the newest gen yet but happened before.

How many track miles do you have on these rotors?

I initially thought that the rotors could still be used but after researching a bit I've been proven wrong.

Workshop manuals REQUIRE replacement once a rotor has suffered "Edge Damage". See link in the next post.

The comment about drilled holes not being round--that's from brake pad deposits. Heated enough pad materials will start filling the holes and you'll be surprised that they can look very shiny--the same color as the rest of the rotor--to the point that you can tell where the holes end and where the rotor starts.

And others are right--none of us have yet seen a failed Gen3 rotor. And if your dealer's the only one that's taken wheels off in the past they need to make it right for you.

Could be wrong, but looking at the fracture lines this does not look like brake pad transfer to me:

I'd push for a no cost replacement.

Just got back from Champion Motorsports.
Here is the story. Champion Porsche (dealer)had a density tester, they told me to make any appointment for Wednesday, quoted me $350. i then called Champion motorsportst told them to borrow the tester from their parent service department. So, they got the tester when I showed up.
Tester was brand new in the box never used. Mechanic read the directions, and
it was really very simple to use. Three mark numbers on hub, all numbers were below allowable limits.
Basically they are TOAST!

Have 30 k miles on car 25+ track days, i have no clue to how many track miles?
Anybody have experience with Race Brake in Fullerton ,CA??

Well, it took a year, but I think it's safe to say that the Gen 3 rotors are not invincible when punished on the track. 25 days is better than the Gen 2 I used on my spyder. It only took 6 days for the surface to start delaminating on those rotors which probably would have lasted 12 days... on a boxster. I've got 16 days on my iron front AP racing rotors on my GT3 so far and they still look good.

Race Brake told me their CCBs are 3 to 4 time more durable?
i think it is just a sales pitch. I think I should stay with OE for now.
BTW, rears are fine!

Race Brake? Are you sure it's not "Racing Brake"?

This thread is Halloween scary!

Thanks for sharing.

I ran done RB iron rotors on an Audi long ago, want a great experience (vibration issues). Could be different now.

Wasn't Porsche going to make iron replacements for PCCB owners available?

How do the fronts get shredded like that, but the rears are ok?

I don't know if RB CCM last longer but the whole set is "only" $13k. And you can refurbish them too.
"PCCB Replacement: CCM Rotors are designed and built by RB using CCM-X discs supplied by Surface Transforms from UK. 100% compatible with OE calipers and pads"
