I've got a 3 car garage and a 2 car garage. Just bought a lift so my wife can get her space back!!!! So bottom line is. You can never have to much garage space.
I've yet to hear. " I really regret that I built such a big garage"! 😃😃😃😃

Default Polishers and Pads

I completed the line-up of Rupes polishers, and made a pad change. I also got a small shipment of Adam's stuff for my GT3 trip coming up. I made a video explaining my polisher and pad line-up.

Adam's sent me some extra stuff for the trip.

Default Plate Frame

I got a new frame for the M3, so I moved my gloss black one from IND over to the GT3. I like how it matches the lettering.

In the spirit of being super ****, I painted the screws black to match.

There were a few scratches on the frame from the bolt caps that were on it, so I polished out and sealed with Sonax PNS.

I put these spacers in between the plate frame and the bumper to ensure the frame wasn't touching the paint.

Default FVD Exhaust Update!

Matt,

Just wanted to let you know that M&M has shipped your mufflers and center bypass today. FVD Germany will receive them on Friday the 10th and will ship them out via airfreight to us.

We should have them no later than Tuesday the 14th so you should see them on Wednesday the 15th.

I will be checking on them personally and getting accurate weights for you. I will email you the pictures of the mufflers on the scales, etc.

Thanks,
Rhonda

Default Kaizen Foam Drawer Organization

I figured it's about time to step up my level of crazy. A forum member of Garage Journal suggested I look into Kaizen Foam. Well...you don't have to tell me twice. I ordered up enough to test out on a few drawers.

http://www.fastcap.com/estore/pc/Kaizen-Foam-p13435.htm

Naturally, I need to buy some tools to organize my tools.

I bought four 48" sheets to try to see if I liked it.

30mm for the 2.5" drawers and 57mm for the 6" drawers.

At first, I hated it. After cutting, it doesn't leave a uniform bottom. It looks very unfinished. I watch a video of a guy correcting that, but it would take hours and hours to fix it.

Little man staying up too late to play with Daddy in the garage.

Ummm....Yeah... Smiling ear to ear. Love it! 1 drawer down, 31 to go. This is going to take a while. The other sad news for my wallet is that my drawers are too big to do two drawers with on sheet, so that means I'm going to need to buy a full sheet for each one.

Looks good. I was thinking something like this myself but figured it would be a pain cutting all the foam out and not hacking it up.

It took me about an hour to do one drawer. So a solid week's worth of work, and I'll be done.

So Matt, I can see how to make the outline cuts but how do you dig the foam out? Go in at an angle with the xacto?

This is the part that I don't like. The foam is glued together in 1/8" sheets. You trace the outline of the tool, then cut around the line with an exacto knife. After that, you dig out however many layers you desire. The problem is that the layers don't come out uniformly, so I doesn't look so great when the tool is not in position.

Matt, I know you are well into your drawer liner project. I too have contemplated and tried several approaches. I have a lot of tools and the "stock" gets added to from time to time, so flexibility is the key. BUT I also don't like the tools moving around in the drawer - they need to stay neat. If your goals are to have a spot for every tool and if it does not return to it's proper spot you will know by the empty space, then your present approach can work. But if your goal is to keep everything organized and stay in the place you positioned it in the drawer the following mat material works great. These are the McMaster -Carr URL's for the products. I have used McMaster-Carr for 30 years, their prices are great, the stock is usually always on hand and they carry everything - you can spend days going through their website/catelogue! Frankly many retail supply houses order from them and then you pay the mark-up to buy from the retailer.

Default Audio System Plans

Here is what I'm planning on doing. This is stolen from Joe Rogan's GT3 RS.

I'm planning to do Audison AV5.1k HD with an Audio Bit1 Processor utilizing the factory PCM head unit.

http://www.audison.eu/index.php?page=product&id=71

http://www.audison.eu/index.php?page=productLine&id=15

I'm not sure what subs I'm going use. He has Illusion Audio carbon series. I'm pretty sure I want to do two 8" drivers.

I'm also going to simply disconnect the OEM center channel and rears and simply do an actively powered front stage. I'm most likely going to use Hertz Mille MK165.3. I'll ditch the passive crossovers and use the Bit 1. The AV5.1x offers 75X2 and 140X2 for the tweeter and mid-range.

http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/car-a...egend-mlk1653/

So we're talking a very simple system. It's going to cost me about $8,000 give or take.
