VIN WP0AC2A96ES183291 ASKING PRICE $163,888 MSRP $161,640

I can't believe they are asking above MSRP for cars with California "Lemon" title.

Also, it's interesting that a California dealer bought 2 cars from Atlanta Manheim.

The sale was simulcast. The cars were probably not all in Atl.

They actually bought three. Serial number 183099 (it wasn't white as listed) was also purchased by them and sold already. The third white GT3 they have listed they purchased from me. I have a '15 with buckets coming in December. Interesting all 3 have clear tail lights. I was going to change them out if I kept it. Seems more popular than I thought.

I posted more details on another thread.

Now why would that be odd? PCCB's are the farthest item from my mind when I configure and Porsche. A standard must for the '3' should be the ulift kit. And funny thing about that is the aftermarket is the can give the car a highet lift, but generally cost over $6000 more than the Factory Kit! That and most of us know unless you're going to run the Lap App is Sport Chrono. What the old 997.2 PCNA cars were plagued with. I'm strictly talking about the extra GT3s/RS models that were blessed upon some dealers out of the blue.

Also, has there ever been a lemon law car sold at auction in history retailing for over MSRP and at such a great premium.

Would love to see the Car Fax on these cars. But truly we all know what these cars are all about and what the mality the Purchaser's of these cars will make Lemonade with.

And also according to the data shown there's 70% of the cars painted white. There must be some explanation for so many GT3's being painted white. Such a data doesn't shoa up for any other Porsches unless a specific car came out only in a limited number of colors. Like the 997.2 Black Series...

That's good for us buyers/owners of non-lemon cars!

Honestly, I bet people who buy these "lemon" cars do not know that it's a lemon.

In autotrader, the dealer always put free Carfax on their cars, but they deliberately left free Carfax out of these 2 GT3 listings. Also, they are not Certified Preowned.

I bet that they will find out when they try to trade them in!

I thought the dealer was going to CPO the vehicles, but I guess not. Because if it's certified with 2 years of extra warranty, it may not be such a bad deal. But not $10K over MSRP though.

As far as I understand it, these cars cannot be CPO'd.

And yes, they're listing them at above MSRP. No surprise, considering most (all) of the dealers who purchased at auction paid MSRP or above (from the data earlier in this thread).

Absurd. Just absurd. This is why the dealers I deal with / dealers I trust sat this auction out.

Doesn't dealer have to disclose the lemon title. Anyway the car fax only sTate's that the engines have been replaced which we all know

These two cars have lemon alert on the carfax. I don't know about the title itself.

They sold every last one for MSRP and then "booted" that price just because they can. '15 production is gone, done, over.
Porsche will make money on this debacle one way or the other. These cars are only "Lemons" because of our consumer protection laws. A Lemon in my good is a POS that goes to the shop for frequent visits for multiple problems.

I'd have been fine with a new engine. Now the 997's will spike (again).

I was contacted this week by a gentleman looking for a Gen.1 997 until I told him the ship may have sailed for getting any sort of deal.

Ain't life grand?

Unless you're a cash buyer, retail bank financing deals are non existent ....no finance on lemons - Bank of America for one.
Insuring is probably in the same category. Buyer needs to check in advance to be safe.

Quite a few banks will finance lemon branded cars as they have no actual policy on lemon cars, bank of america is not one of them. It is not hard to finance them.

I know a dealer that sold the buyback BEFORE it arrived from the auction...over MSRP.
