Cat. "B" folks with cars at Port
#211
FINALLY picked her up tonight. Cat B, original ETA was January 10th so the wait has been brutal – almost bailed a few times. But after a 100km drive tonight – OH MAMA – I definitely made the right call. This car is SICK, exceeding my very high expectations in every way, so far. Steering is amazing, the car is so agile and tossable. I’m a diehard manual guy – it was the only major reservation I had ordering this car. Prior to this GT3 I have never owned an automatic car in my life. I wouldn’t even buy an Auto 4-door sedan in the past. With the 991 C4 loaner I had, the PDK was “ok” but I would never order a car with that transmission over a traditional manual. PDK-S is a HUGE improvement and I think it’s the right transmission for this car. Especially in a car with low mid-range torque/power you can just bang a gear or 2 and you are pressed into the seat. Given the choice I would’ve ordered an old-school manual 100% but I’ll report back with an honest opinion on whether that is still the case once I log a lot more miles. So far I am far from disappointed. The sound is awesome, and the car looks SERIOUS on the street – all-round I’m blown away.
Hang in there waiters – sooooo happy right now that I did.

First thing tomorrow morning Im getting the car measured for a custom rear/half cage, then having an alignment done and Sharkwerks bypass installed. Then the fun really begins doing track events Friday night, all day Sunday and all day Monday (at 2 different local tracks). So I have a few break-in miles to log tomorrow and Friday - likely wont be able to sleep much knowing that thing of beauty is parked downstairs Ill be at it early tomorrow. Hang in there waiters sooooo happy right now that I did. Here are a few pics:

Also - I should of gotten the black wheels -Ugh... - I like them the best - I got standard. Will wait for them to chip and then will go Satin black

But, dammit, to hear those words out loud--"five months ago?!?!" My goodness, this has definitely been one long wait.

I wouldn’t normally get “gloss” black but my last 3 sets of wheels have ranged from satin black to matte black so I thought I’d give these a try. I think they look amazing on this car, but obviously it’s a matter of personal taste. The standard finish looks great as well, as does the silver from the pics I’ve seen lately. Always an easy thing to change later if you feel the need.

It went through PDI without any issues yesterday and is having the clear bra installed today. Am scheduled to pick it up late tomorrow afternoon. Then probably back to the dealership on Monday or Tuesday for the SW bypass, GMG roll bar and carbon fiber seats - have to get her ready for the track!
