Z06/z07 will spank SLS Black. Not even close.

And the Ariel Atom will spank the Z06, after it's done cleaning up the mess the SLS left behind from the spanking at the woodshed.

In other words, who cares.

Plus, they went and filled the trunk with an engine!?!
The SUV stance leaves quite an impression too. I guess they've set it for off-road use. The cramped up interior(tried to fit in one at the NYC Auto Show) is another thing... 6.2 with a helmet might be impossible... Although,I'm sure the Z06 will be different. I'm looking forward to the Z06! I'm curious about pricing. If priced right might be interesting, although I was never a fan,I have to admit it's starting to look appealing...

Also worth mentioning : you have to sit next to/into the C7 to see the quality differences between a Porsche and this car. I just don't know what it is...it's just not the same...it might be the materials they're using, the paint, assembly process, attention to detail...the workmanship?... I have seen the Corvette assembly line in a video...I won't comment any further...I guess it's like buying a VW made in Mexico that was put together on a Monday or a Friday after a lot of cerveza has been consumed...
I guess the same can be said about the GT3...is it a known fact lots of GT3 engines have been put together during Oktoberfest 2013?

Mainly, I think you should stop thinking straight line (0-60 / 1/4-mile), and start to read up on some track performance figures

There is more (much more) than 0-60 and 1/4-mile (both of which don't do you much good on the street, unless you are into illegal streetracing)

I think 0-120 and 0-150 are more important specs.

i drove a c7 on track recently and was very impressed with it. not sure what i think of new z06 though. hp is obviously amazing and looked good when i saw it at auto show last month. but the weight is an issue and the sc engine heat will be problem. body kit is no doubt functional but still very over styled even compared to porsche/ferrari. and how will it be able to put that power to the ground? exhaust note? and i bet will take at least $125k to get z07 version.

so in comparison to gt3, its cheaper and faster but not as nimble or sound as good. thats same as it was in 2007. if rs is turbo, then really close performance but now way, way cheaper. chrysler doesnt seem to have spent necessary $ to properly develop viper so thats out. nismo gtr will be great comparison. the 7.08 ring time will be hard to beat and the awd allows mortals to handle it and in the rain too. and dont forget, if you want a stick shift its zo6 (or viper) or nothing.

cant wait until these comparisons come out

we all know that deep down thats what people really care about. straight line power. and acceleration.

and lol!! what the hell are you talking about?

are you saying that superior cornering and handling are of more use on the street than straight line? so you're going to be going full out around corners on the street are you?

and if you cant street race in a straight line, you certainly aint street racing around corners... at least you wont be for very long.

i swear some people dont think before they post.

You have (at least) 2 guys in this thread that regularly and actively track their ZR1s without any issues with heat. Quikag is the other one, in case you're wondering. It turns out that while the car is moving, the heat exchanger gets pummeled by cool air. And that's a backwards tilted heat exchanger, too.

GM made a big deal about the forward tilted radiators in the new C7. Don't think for a moment they did that for the base Stingray. I'm sure the car benefits from the radiator being tilted forward, but they were engineering that cavern under the hood for a forced induction engine.

With the heat exchanger slanted forward, a problem that didn't really exist will really not exist. Get it? Heat won't be a problem any more than it is for any other engine, FI'd or not.

and i bet will take at least $125k to get z07 version.
Another one for the betting pool. I'm going to be a rich man when those prices are announced. How much do you want to make that bet for? :-)
