Wow! This is nuts!! Speedo moving faster than tachometer for most of the run.

You guys write like this car is some revelation. The z06 has been faster around a track than every gt3 variant since 2006. The power is just as impressive as 505hp was when the previous model was introduced.
In any case, it should be considered that the z06 has been dropped and this is the new zr1. Just like when Porsche brings out the turbo gt3 rs - it's simply the new gt2.

You're smoking some good stuff. The TA barely beat the ZR1 around Laguna Seca by a tenth or two and you think it'll pull 14 seconds on the ZR1 at the Ring? Haha. The C7 ZO6 with Z07 package will stomp a mud hole in the TA at any track. Hope SRT comes out with a juiced ACR to compete.

I loved my GT3RS and was really looking forward to my 991 GT3 until the sh*t hit the fan. I had already put a #1 deposit down for a Z06/7 at 2 dealers back in Jan. Once I cancelled my GT3 order, I picked up the '10 Viper ACR to hold me over until the Vette comes. I have to say, I had never considered owning either a Viper or a Vette--but now I've really had an epiphany. The ACR is much faster around the track than my RS was. Sure it's unrefined and a sledgehammer, but it's just as fun to drive on the track and is multiples less costly to maintain. I'm really looking forward to the Z07 now. If it's as good or better than the ACR at the track, I'm going to cancel my 991 GT3RS deposit. I find it hard to justify spending double the amount of money for less performance and greatly increased running costs. I also like the fact I can order a manual and the car comes with a full telemetry/lap time set up with video already installed. I'll just have to wait and see what the Z07 ultimately brings to the party when I drive it--but it's looking good so far.

I don't think Porsche has an answer (numbers wise) for the new ZO6 with a 911 unfortunately. It will probably take the 960 that is scheduled for release in...2019.

Bet there are quite a few Porsche engineers banging their heads on their desk trying to plan out the next move; and they aren't not the only ones.

In fairness to Porsche's present engineers, the new Z06 will beat every production Porsche ever made except for the 918 which costs ten times as much.
FWIW, I knew when I bought the GT3 there would be faster cars for less money. What I was looking for in a car is what I find important in life. Refinement and class. Add to that some rawness and edginess and you get the GT3 . The Corvette without a doubt one of the best performance value on the planet but to me it lacks those qualities. But if you consider the entire package, performance, elegance and class for the money the GT3 is the best value on the planet.
