My delivery date was supposed to be end of March. So, I figure that if I were not on RL, I would have just gone about my business (none the wiser) until that date lapsed. I'm fairly certain that I'm going to wait regardless, but I think I'd start to get to another level of anxiousness after 3/31.

I agree I will to start to complain after March 31. Hopefully we can get some benefits from Porsche such as a long extended warrant. Realistically I am in for the long hall unless Porsche just gives up which I do not see happening. Being an engineer it definitely looks like a bad batch of parts and not a design flaw. This is still a basic 911 engine with upgraded parts. The base engine has no problems.

Got a call this morning from the dealer. Porsche is now surveying owners to obtain the mileage on the cars. Don't know what this means. Progress? CYA in case we drive them? The car is still in my garage.

Agreed, Sam. Several articles have quoted that PAG wanted the cars back to "inspect" each one. It's logical that they would want to survey as much data on as many of the 785 cars as possible--would provide a normalized data set.

I read the dealers are being asked to send in ECU readings. This may be an indication they believe the problem may be confined to a limited number of cars. Let's hope that is the case.

If I got that call in this situation I would take it to mean that you will soon be made an offer to either:

1. Buy your car back at x dollars based on mileage
or
2. Replace your engine which will take at least 4 months to complete.

It'll be your choice.
