So, this "high up" contact said it is a supplied part, but would not say what part it was or the fix???

Assume that replacing the engine is the final call, what do you guys think the time frames will be? 2 weeks, 30 days , 60 days or more?

My bet is 45 plus days...or even more depending on how long engine production takes.

Actually, the side intakes on 991 RSR are used for engine cooling. As a matter of fact, they found that the intakes are a little too effective and cooled the engine too much - this is direct from Porsche factory driver for RSR. If you look at pics of RSR lately, majority of the intake is blocked off with a white piece of plastic or CF.

Anyway, hzoenvy33 is wrong. GT3 RSs have been spied with side intakes. So his 3 component air theory goes out the window. I do agree, however, that the RS will be NA. Very, very little chance that it'll be FA.

He said the issue was developing a new DFI motor which would have been tremendously expensive had the FIA rules been changed. He specifically said I was "stupid" for not getting the car now. Which leads to the next point-the RS.
3. I specifically said turbo. He told me its very possible as it is allowed under the FIA rules and judging worldwide movement towards turbos it certainly will be stressed. He told me they have tested 2 motors. 4.1 liter 580 hp NA and a turbo motor. He obviously wouldn't tell me what the decision would be.
4. The RS will be 200k and loaded with extreme carbon bodywork and bespoke suspension.
-- True or not, this is exciting to Ponder.. -- Out of my current price range, but will get it anyways if 525hp NA.. ha ha..

Honestly, all you guys with cars deserve the quickest resolve. I'll happily accept a later delivery considering what you must be going through.

True or False, at least the Sebring rep has given us something to chew on.

For you guys who have taken delivery, and those in production, I'm glad for you that we are closer to a resolution.

The 1 thing that keeps flashing through my mind, and I cannot get it to stop, is the bit of the Harris video where he questions, "How is Porsche going to keep it reliable to 9k rpm? I don't know, but they are Porsche, so I'm sure they will come up with something." and very clearly right after that sentence, there is an edit. Paraphrasing, of course. It reminded me of the E46 issues from 2000-2001.

As far as I can tell, I don't think CH has said anything about the stop sale / recall issue--and he comments pretty frequently on social media...

It is pretty interesting bc I'm sure he either knows something or has a strong opinion on the topic...but has remained silent.
