Regarding the no slicks topic, I was at a Porsche event & spoke to several Porsche Mechanics regarding this issue & asked if it was due to the RWS on the 991GT3. The answer was no, but it had more to do with the stresses on the single center wheel bolt & other suspension components. Also, due to the warranty issues Porsche had with the 997.2 GT cars & the single wheels bolts, it probably makes sense financially to ban slicks on the new models.

this car should be ordered with zero options.
the continued ordering ordering of useless options and PTS is what makes porsche dilute the essence of the car.

euro car is more $ than USA. you can't just convert euro pricing to USD.

yes a 4.0

My only question is after spending all this money on a new 991RS, in time will it be coveted like the 997RS series before it?
if the next RS is hybrid or turbo, the this one would be keeper.

PTS is the one option I would order - would delete the stickers :-)

Depends on what colors are offered.
All we know is burnt orange...

Even *** white was a 5K option on RS in '07.

I heard the colors in the initial rollout would be:

-blood orange
-white
-metallic black
-silver

No decals..

Anyone heard anything different? Quite a conservative lineup.

No slicks rule is everything to do with excess wear and tear and potential warranty issues. The 991 motor can easily take the loads as witnessed by Porsche's video demonstrating the 997.2 engine on a rotating rack simulating high g'loads. Slicks put heavy wear on wheel bearings, hubs, brake components (it's astonishing how hard you can brake on slicks), suspension arms, etc.

Disappointed no Signal Green or Maritime/Mexico/Riviera Blue.

Expect to see a lot of Blood Orange RS's running around.

It's either BO or PTS Martime for me.....
