That's what my wife said. "Wont make pics at exotic locale holidays but see him like a 9 year old with his toy car..."

What do you mean by 4000 allowable miles in European Delivery? Since when there is a limit on miles for Euro Delivery? Or is it related to the loaned 'snow tires (and wheels?)', provided during winter months for your Porsche under the new ED program, for which they limit usage?

Thanks Peter.

Eduardo. Earlier this week I was given a series of photos of Gerds 904 on delivery at Butzis office (circa 1981 we believe). The pictures were given me by one of the people in the picture. I couldn't help but feel how impressive the 904 was in this colour and wondered if you could make a guess at what we are looking at here?

'Signal Red' would be my guess, color code 6407 at the time. It was a period color (my 1965 356 C Cabriolet was done in this color - see photo below of color tag) and several 904's were painted in 'Signal Red' (although the majority were 'Silver').

Great photos. Must have been taken just outside the original Porsche Design Studio office in Zell Am See. Besides Butzi and Gerd, who are the others in the photos?

My ED extended insurance contract days 6000Km or 6 months or tax is due. I'll ask ED department to verify because I will do those miles in 3 months easy and that means half the cost for only 3 months insurance.

They were supposed to call me today. Nothing :-(

Eduardo. Correct on location. colour looks more orange than red but may be age of original scans. Gent in white T is a Kiwi worked 20 years for Butzi at PD, Simon Fraser.

Yes, I would think its the age of the original scans.

'Signal Red' was the primary red color for those years - 1964 & 1965. The factory substituted 'Signal Red' with 'Polo Red' for years 1966 thru 1969. My first Porsche, a 1968 912 Soft-Rear Targa, was 'Polo Red' (which is not as bright or as attractive as 'Signal Red').

'Blutorange / Tangerine', which would be the first 'orange' Porsche offered since 356A days, would only come later, starting as a standard color in MY1968. However, it might have been available earlier (MY1966) as a 'special color' by special request. In either case, this version of 'orange' was offered AFTER all 904s were built! However, Porsche was capable/willing of doing PTS even back in the 356A days. So 'everything' and 'anything', including 'Pink Porsches', was possible in 1964 & 1965 (although relatively rare to see PTS in those days)! However, PTS was rather common on vehicles specifically made for Porsche family members! So where does that leave us? Back to square one!

************

On a separate topic, I have heard reports that 991 gt3 RS customers with allocations in Europe were notified several weeks ago that PAG will indeed allow PTS on that model. Some of these customers have already notified their dealers of their desired PTS colors (e.g. 'Riviera Blue' and 'Reingrün/Pure Green'). I have asked my source (a Rennlister based in Europe) if PAG was restricting the color selection to just a few approved hues...but he hasn't yet responded to that inquiry! But his first report made on mention of 'restrictions' on the larger 991/981 approved PTS list. Will keep you all posted!

So that is indeed good news for you 991 gt3 RS with allocations! I suspect PCNA should announce their PTS decision to dealers & North American customers this coming week...or next!

Eduardo

Interesting details when I was changing some of my configuration today on Sept build. I was told that UV will only be available through mid november and RS produced after that time no UV. Additionally that configurator is backwards and that if I want the silver wheels, as opposed to platinum that is the default color, I should specify "silver", $325, option and that they were certain that configuration of picture was incorrect speculation on limited paint time frame was supplier issue. Anyone else heard the same ?

I've not heard anything on UV being limited production, mine has been V200 and UV since the allocations were first given out. The date hasn't changed at all, even despite the LWB 10 week delay.
