A German 991 GT3 RS owner posted the attached picture in the German forum PFF. It is a picture from one of the factory GT3 RS he saw in Leipzig and running on track. Pretty scary picture ...
Thanks for keeping us non-German speaking up to date on this important topic!
Sounds like the idea of a compliant street ride and max downforce/track mojo might be an illusion afterall.
I foresee a lot of uprated shock/spring pkg sales for track junkies.
Its not that soft and its not that bad..
Those plastic grilles should come out anyway and those holes in the wheel wells barely touch the corner lights.. Kinda like 997RS no?
Not like its a 200K car with an all CF front end bodywork.. Oh wait.....
AP made it clear that they traded off a bit of fender rub for fitting larger rubber. Tires rub inner fender of our Cup cars all the time; not an issue. I'll take a little rubbing for more rubber any day.

This owner reports to have seen 3 cars with this issue.
And we cannot say that the Porsche track in Leipzig has compressions...
So Porsche should be well aware about the issue beyond the owner complaints if they have it on their factory cars.
The owner has the same issue on his car on the rear axle. He has reported the issue to his Porsche dealer and is awaiting an answer.
For me we should see very soon a recall since this issue cannot continued to be ignored by PAG and classified as "normal wear".

It did and they are aware. See above.
Whether they decide a fix is in order if enough customers raise a stink remains to be seen.

That's horrifying. I guess there are tradeoffs but there's got to be a good solution to avoid this.
Let's just wait for BBS to make a better set of wheels for the RS! Inner offset and all 20" fr/rr would be interesting... So no rubbing issues and maybe faster acceleration!

Anybody know how much time would be gained on acceleration on the rs if this was done
Swapped out all 4 tires today.
I will see if they rub tomorrow or not on a normal track.
The rear rubbed minimally and only on one side.
The fronts have the same holes.
Tire wear indicates the fronts and rears want more camber but I cant do more without more rubbing...
Tires still felt very fast to me, but one of the rears outside edge was about to cord according to the Michelin man and since I have extra sets with me I just replaced 4 tires.
At home I would have run another day and cord them and only replace the rears, keeping the fronts. But on the road like this its nice to have fresh rubber all around.
^^^I'm sorry but this can't be right. I don't track my cars but this kind of wear should not happen. I would be pissed off. After all the testing done on a track mostly car....well it doesn't make sense to me.
