FWIW, Joe Sackey on Fchat is saying:

FWIW Ive been advised that blue non-metallic PTS colors (with codes) for the 991 GT3 RS are:

- Mexico Blue (336)
- Maritime Blue (38B)
- Dark Sea Blue (A5G)
- Riviera Blue (39E)
- Voodoo Blue (Z12)
- Olympic Blue (Z16)
- Aquamarine (Z62)

I hope he's correct.

Making the decision even harder now if I get the allocation. All the best blues....

If that is true, there will be way more than the 10 or 12 PTS colors initially suggested.

Joe Sackey is well connected collector & automotive book writer. And he knows about Porsche 'blues' since he has a 'Meissen' .2 997 gt3 RS.

But I find odd that Porsche would approve for the 991 gt3 RS the 'Aquamarine', color code Z62, which already has been tested & turned down for all 991/981.

'Aquamarine' is a beautiful 356A non-metallic color that is very popular among early Porsche restorers. It would be nice to see it added to PTS.

But it just doesn't make sense that PAG would tested & turn it down for the 991...and then allow it as PTS for just the RS. We know they did the same for 'Blutorange/Tangerine' and then introduced 'Lava Orange' (which is a few shades off from 'Tangerine') initially for the RS and now as a 'Special Color' for most 991 models. But 'Aquamarine' is not a signature color for the RS or any other Porsche model, so it doesn't make much sense to make the exception for the RS.

If they have these many PTS 'Blues' approved for the 'RS', hopefully we will see a similar number of 'greens' for it included too...'Viper', 'Signal', 'RS green', 'Birch', etc.

Saludos,
Eduardo

Hope this bike will not be the closest I'll get to an UV RS: http://www.konaworld.com/rove.cfm

(check color, last ones are better)

I've been asking for Aquamarine for years, always denied. I would love to see Z62 generally available.

Me too. But it's hard to believe it will come with the 991 gt3 RS. Do you miss your old 'Aetna / Etna Blue' 991?

For the record, if things actually worked out as I had originally planned, I'd be getting a Maritime Blue GT3 RS for myself (since Chartreuse is not yet approved), and an Aetna Blue GT3 RS for my lady.

Sadly, for now, I'm getting zero of these, as I'm still waiting for an allocation. May have to defer my crazy PTS plans to the 991.2 GT3 RS when it drops in a couple years.

(918 Spyder VIP program sadness.)

I think the violet will be one of those very light sensitive colors that come alive in bright sun light and looks very dark in over cast condition ,,,we all know from photographing our own cars that photo,s just don,t do the paint justice at times ,,,,I am certain the violet will look beautiful in the flesh ............
