ok, well that was short and succinct. Gave very little info, nothing new that we haven't already heard. However now we've heard it direct and confirmed by Porsche. 7:20 lap time is a bit disappointing as I was hoping it would eclipse the 997 GT2RS. Oh well, now that's done...Can we start to speculate about the next GT2RS...4 liters, 700hp, 685tq, PDK-S+ rear-wheel steering, GT3RS suspension, 2950lb and a 7:05 lap time at the Ring (beating the Nismo GTR by 3 seconds). Ok, that's enough for tonight lol
but please let s close this thread for a while

Anyone think this car was like an after thought? And 1.5 years to late? 8800 RPM redline that was supposed to be 9k. 10kg only weight loss!! 5 second a lap Ring time decrease and some bodykit (which is cool). Am I missing anything? Totally and completely underwhelmed.

The torque increase is impressive. However I suspect a bit of that was already on the table from the 3.8... this is Porsche just cranking the **** a bit.
Rest of the car is... meh. The 8,800rpm rev limit is too bad, that actually makes the regular car the highest revving 911. Weird.
5s a lap at the ring is barely 1s at a normal track. Forget the ring time, this car will be 1s quicker than the normal car I would think, and this is with the huge torque, wider tires and big aero.
The normal car looks more interesting now

General reaction seems a bit muted actually. I did find it a little disappointing. Not that there was a huge difference from the rumours, but that everything was just a little bit less than expectations.
Press conference was as exciting as a Prius launch.
