Any idea how long after the Geneva show dealers will get details / allocation info and begin contacting their customers ?

Was told June for US sales to start back in October - which would mean April build slots for NE deliveries in June.

My latest info is specs and firm order immediately after Geneva. My build slot is (currently) June - pushed back from March as late as December. Seems to fit ...

or if you really cant because your chassis is steel based

And we know that steel chassis at same or close weight is much Much
better than Alu chassis so let s forget 1330kg RS in reality you did better at the end but give us at least 550HP to keep us beating our sisters on R8??

I fully share the opinion that the RS with 500 HP and 1.390 kg will clearly be behind the other new toys like new R8, 488 GTB, 675L LT & co.

OK, the downforce should be better on the RS but it sucks to be passed by these cars on straights and not sure that the downforce will really allow us to get better lap times at the end with these hp monster

I've wondered what a monster the 991 platform GT2 RS ( if there is one ) would be . Seems like it would be an easy 675 hp ( more ? ) and on be on par with most anything else out there .

I plan on getting my RS in as light a spec as possible (PCCB, LWBs, radio delete etc) and one of the first things I want to do is put it on the scales.
Nate, I don't think that is correct regarding the 1/4 tank of fuel. Porsche's published weights are to DIN standard 70020 which I'm almost certain includes all fluids and a full tank of fuel. It's true that Porsche uses a lightweight standard spec (no options).

I don't know about the thread you refer to where someone weighed their GT3. However, according to Porsche the 991 GT3 in standard spec weighs 3153 lbs with a full tank of fuel. This tracks reasonably closely with Car and Driver's measured weight of 3197 pounds, with options including CS package and a full tank of fuel.

Comparing apples to apples, I think the 1400KG weight for Porsche's RS will be to the same DIN standard as all their other cars; no options, all fluids, full tank of fuel.

I think we're seeing a little bit of the fallout of the GT3 induced delay. If it was released this time last year it would have been it vs the 458S and not much else.

Don't get me wrong - it'll be a great car, but now it's seeming a bit behind the times.

I think Mike is correct on this. No options should also include the 4 way sofas and not the buckets which will obviously take some weight out of the car.

Exactly my opinion too! This sucks for about 200K€ .

But can't Porsche still push the engine in direction of 550 hp until Geneva now that the other beasts are out and that the gap to them is huge in terms of power ?

How?.. How does one magically "push" an extra 50hp out of a NA engine?.. sometimes I think the need to chat pushes us to just say.. Anything. No one will know the difference when they're sitting in this car between 500 and 520, or 530 hp… You will hear the sound of many fine-tuned mechanical parts working sync... And that is all that will matter.

Actually.. You will see it in a video as this car will be in the hands of very few

interesting....over at ferrarichat there is a lot of whining on the design of the 488GTB, the performance plus is taken for granted. here it is the performance of the RS that is in doubt....nobody worries about its design::))
