Hmmm...very interesting. All of the sudden the side intakes and huge rear tires start to make sense. And if the 960 is real, I can see the GT2RS being difficult to justify...

While it seems hard to believe, this *could* explain why the pictured decklid is not like past GT3 variants with the intake scoop but is in fact like that of the TT/S ...

if its true then its a GT2/3 RdS (no not diesel)

well the side intakes are simply bringovers from the TT/S chassis/bodyshell and probably serve the same purpose as they do on those models.

Lack of a GT2 RS is probably a combination of market (lack thereof) & product placement (in relation to other models)

I dont think they'd need a turbo to get an extra 15bhp out of the current motor if past experience is anything to go by

Very curious about this news. This would be a game changer.

What do you guys think?

Still find it hard to believe but it makes sense. GT2 class doesn't exist anymore and a race class named "GT3RS" does not exist either. So this can be a new turbo charged model type for Porsche IMHO.

IF it's true; Which one are you getting? GT3 or GT(2)3RS WITH turbo?

I hear it's Supercharged actually. Porsche made the decision after the announcement of the new Z06.
Give me a break! It's not happening! Porsche does not want to commit public suicide.

It's not IMHO.

Estimates are they sell a lot more 'new products' by breaking the rules. GT3 (RS) - GT2(RS) is just too complicated.

The first rule they broke was bringing out a Cayenne! Then they even dared to sell diesel engine and even Panamera and hybrid and Panamera Extended WheelBase . Then they touched another holy cow; the GT3 by releasing it with PDK only. It seems there are NO rules anymore. Porsche grew so large, they can do what they want!

Wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

I agree they've changed quite a few rules and most likely we will see a hybrid or turbo,if they don't stop making them all together...but I believe it's in the future, not with this model. I mean,it wouldn't make sense. Why didn't they start with the GT3 turbo, why the RS...
Those side inlets are probably for some brake cooling or creating some downforce at higher speeds whatever...

I've heard it all. Cut to the chase Porsche, launch a 991 GT3RS Turbo 4.0 R.

Turbochargers on a GT3?

How many are they making? Is it likely that a bunch of people who have "put themselves on list" already will not end up getting a car?

I hope everything but the Flame graphics...That will be the only positive contribution of the GT3 fire incidents.

I much hope this way we will get some nice and clean, true racing graphics for the 991 RS!
