Yes this is old news but thanks anyway.

The model just confirms what we know already - this is going to be the best thing since Britney Spears.

SuperDarius, Did you previously own a 2007 997.1 turbo. I think I remember you from Rennteam.

Default OT : 918 almost sold out!

For those that were worried the 918 is not going to sell : The 918 is less than 30 allocation to being sold out in the US

Bit too early to say. They aren't all built yet.

Yes,you're right. My post is wrong. Less than 30 left Worldwide. They're estimating it will be sold out in 2 weeks.

Here is the info I got today, from what I believe to be a legitimate source:

- 918's will be all sold shortly. 300 in the U.S.
- Only 600 GT3RS total will come to the U.S. (Including RS cars going to 918 owners)

So, some simple math is pretty depressing. 600 cars minus (up to) 300 for 918 owners, leaves 300 cars to be allocated across 300 dealers in the US.

Seems nuts to me

Selling RS's to 918 collectors will just **** off the hard core. Anyone here buying a 918 want to friend me their RS allocation...I'm serious.

This would make the 991 RS run a lot smaller than the 997.1 and .2 runs? Why do you suppose that is?

Maybe because it's going to cost as much as the 997 4.0 which also had even more limited production number (600 units worldwide).

Sadly, I'm pretty sure Porsche won't allow 918 owners to sell/pass on their VIP allocations.

That's been my experience with other VIP statuses (that I have elsewhere). If I choose to not consume that allocation, or take delivery of the vehicle, it reverts back to the Regional Manager to redistribute to a dealership as they see fit. I have no control over it.

Simple, set up an LLC with your buddy in Montana. Buy the car through the LLC and subsequently dodge the tax burden.

That's not what I would do, but an option.
