Have a great vid of the mysterious RS taken at the ring off the track, but it's too big to load. I'd like to share it. Also saw a camouflaged and a black non camo new R8's testing hard. Have some vid of that too. The video is much better of the RS than this weak picture. Oh and I saw the little village Porsche has it's private little nurburgring Skunk Works in, and I think the villagers are in on it.

Anyway I'm still in Europe and a slave to Wifi so it's difficult to work this kind of black op. However on the bright side my car is in the states waiting at dealership for me to pick up ASAP.

I'm heading back to the ring so no worries I'm going to demand Porsche let me in to photograph everything going on in that building so I can post it!

I did notice that, and remember that 21 were speculated as the rear size. 20/21 set up, and looking at the Ring videos, it looks like it could be true

I would suggest ordering it with a Porsche Dule-Spout Portafilter (PDSP) so you can get a consistent crema.

I believe the car in the picture is the real deal, wing and all. I was told some time ago that the car may offer some unusual options and now that the $30K wheels have been brought up, I'll add the possibility of a PDK based/derived sequential shifter transmission. These exotic options maybe why there has been so much speculation about the RS price tag, which I am told is around $180K USD base. I think (emphasis think) the RS may be optioned to be the almost Cup car that some folks are looking for, albeit at a hefty price.

Yes. Michelin's internal website noted the OEM sizes for the 991 RS some time ago as:

265/35ZR20 99 load front
325/30ZR21 108 load rear

These are the same sizes as the 918, but higher load ratings. Discussion of what this might mean starting back on page 73.

Interesting that HRE came out with 21" front and rears. Now that the RS will probably have 21 rear and 20 front, that is a good direction for them to go for the non RS GT3 if there are traction benefits and the suspension geometry stills works.

Can anybody explain why it would need a bigger rear wheel than front?

It doesn't need it, but it looks like PAG is just pushing down more from the 918. They did the PCCB on the GT3, eventually buckets in the US. Looks like they're probably adding wheels and potentially some suspension this time around.

The 918 hasn't been a great success, it's a good way to recover sunk R&D money.

Isn't that what you always do with your halo car, anyway? Push tech from it to the lower models in order to, hopefully, recoup costs from scale?

Curious about your PCCB comments, though. Are the 991 GT3's PCCB's not the same as those available to the rest of the line? (And thus are straight from the 918 Spyder?)
