No compensation on the tires but they really didn't wear them too much - very brief hard use. They provided track and street insurance in any regard.

I would also like to hear your comparisons between the gt3 and zo6. I was seriously considering ordering a zo6 loaded in laguna blue for $107k before I test drove a 14 gt3. Expensive test drive!

I don't think anyone should doubt the capabilities of the new Z06, at least for shorter track sessions. I had a C5 version Z06 that had issues with too high oil and transmission temperatures if one attempted more than 3-4 hot laps.
The C7 Z06 will have to prove it's endurance under all out conditions.
Styling is personal and I think the Z06 photographs best from the side. Gray is a good color on the car as it doesn't call as much attention to all of the louvers and vents.

Mostly Heat soak issues of both the engine and the blower. Screw type blowers destroy bearings in the sc, have huge efficiency losses, add high weight, and blow belts. I built a Baja jeep with a blower and in one year went through 4 super chargers and two engines. Later I tried adding a blower to a track car with similar results tuned by the preeminent car builder/race team at the time, finally I did an AMG track day for S and Gs and about half the cars had issues. I've had less issues with Turbos but still will take an NA car over an FI any day for track use. All the mags can talk about how fast these cars are over a lap but do it at track day at Sebring or TWS in August and run all day without issue then I'll take notice. Maybe they've done it, just hasn't been my experience.

My thoughts exactly - which is why I spec'd it grey. I'm assuming all the aero doodads work but it can definitely look a little cartoonish.

Will do - both cars still in break in phase. Will get track time in each in the next couple months. My Z06 is a stick, so not directly comparable to the GT3 - but we'll see about the ECU issue they have created...
