Mike those numbers sounds about correct for what I'm hearing too. GT3 will be produced in block runs. Perhaps four in total. We will see approx 2500 units in total 2014/2015 production LHD+RHD, ROW + USA & China. Roughly these will fall 50/50 between the two model years. Im sure no one knows for sure just yet. Some in the UK and Germany are picking up theri cars in the next 10 days so we will definitely be hearing very shortly from owner first impressions...

Don't know exactly about the slack, and we probably won't know when things will firm up until they actually happen. But, for example, my car is scheduled for completion on 11/22, to arrive at the port of departure on 11/29, and to leave port for the US on 12/6. Arrival in San Diego is supposed to be 1/10, with delivery inventory on 1/24. As new GT3 noted, those are all Fridays, so they are obviously approximations, not specific dates.
Trucks probably don't leave for the port every day, nor do ships sail every day. If the timing is right, a car might not sit for a week before it heads to port or gets on a boat. My guess is those are worst case scenarios. Also, I don't think travel time from Germany to California will take over a month, and with luck it won't take 2 weeks to clear customs and get from Southern to Northern CA.
If things work out, this all gives rise to hope that a car will arrive sooner than expected.

Got a call from my dealer and my car will be produced first week of dec. So I am hoping to pick it up just after my holidays in december/first week of january :-)

LOL. Maybe they'll come up on the same truck from San Diego. When they show up at Sonnen we'll have to compare VIN's to see which one was actually built first!
