MPSS is a good street tire - enough grip on the street, good in the rain, lasts a long time, quiet enough. Also 'tolerable' as a track tire, though I expect the grip of the MPSC2 to be considerably higher.

it was delivered to the owner yesterday in alnaboodah and it came by the plane as well congratulation guys

Dubai 1 the image has been removed because it showed the license plate. Unless you are the owner, do not post images with readable plates. Your earlier post was deleted for this same reason.

Regards,

Bob

MPSS is actually quite a good track tire as far as street tires go. Only RE-11 and AD08 are comparable - some say better. Yes, they (MPSS) have soft side walls and some people don't like the feel. I say get over it - they perform very well for street tires whether you (plural) think they feel weird or not. Let's not be bench-racer Leh Keen's here.

And, yeah, it goes without saying that MPSC2 will offer much more grip.

I agree that it's a decent track tire for a street tire (and I like the feel), just doesn't have the grip and precision of an R-comp. In my neck of the woods, it's pretty uncommon to see street tires on track in upper run groups.

The first production car is not 0001, it is usually 0061.
So your car, it certainly the 476th RoW built, and one of the very first RHD CS.

Correct! all round great performers and very capable on a wet track... Use them as my street and wet track tyre. Their weakest point is a lack of outright traction under heavy braking on a dry track, they tend to ABS easily through lack of grip... A problem I don't find with my RS3s which I use on dry track.

Overall a big fan of the MPSS!

I've noticed that too. If I understand correctly, MPSS uses a stickier compound near the outside edge versus the rest of the tire, so that would mean you're not using the stickier compound much (or at all) under heavy braking, particularly if running substantial neg camber (I'm at 2.5 degrees in the front).

Chris what an absolute shame they dont make the Z221 & Z214 in your sizes for dry track use. These tyres (Z221) knocked 2.0s+ a lap off a short 3km track over RS3 & RE11 for me...for 19 and 20 much more limited R compound although a few mates with 7.2 GT3 have moved to the Tofeo for a change over the MPSC

I'd have to agree Manifold although I feel the really wide channels also give up too much rubber lowering traction in a straight line. They're almost 10mm wide each...

Agreed Macca! I'm actually hoping that now with the latest crop of cars going to 20s, the 19s might become the new 18 and we may actually see a few more r comp options... Would love to get my hands on the z221s or Nittos! The trofeos seem to be very grippy but require unique mounting procedures and don't seem to go a long way... The way I do trackdays, that would be AU$3400 per 1-2 track days, lol..

Agreed. R compounds are much stickier.

I use MPSS on the track as rain tires, but have used them for several days on dry tracks and was able to equal or better the times of several people running NT01s in similar cars in advanced groups. My point being that, yes, R comps are much better on the track but MPSSs aren't too shabby as far as street tires are concerned. If you have to run street tires at the track, MPSSs are an excellent choice IMO. So are RE-11s, AD08s, and the RS3s that someone above mentioned.
