I thought that this thread was about GT3 allocations? Which there are none yet.
To be clear there are NO 918 allocations, The car is built for you the buyer. you will not be able to go into a dealer and buy one.
Can we get back on track?

On the subject of US allocations the way it works is dealers are giving build times on the assembly line for each model. The fact that US dealers are have not been given build time seems to imply there are build issues for the US market and Porsche is sorting it out. How else can it be explained that the ROW are getting their allocations?

For Nick, just in case you didn't see this on rennteam
" First GT3 deliveries in Germany seem to start end of August, so Porsche isn't waiting for the IAA presentation, even if the GT3 will be there on display"
Salt, meet wound.

You think the US might get their allocations before the German deliveries? Maybe Porsche is planning to give US dealers only 2015 allocations. They need to make sure the ROW is taken care of first.

LOL. We should have allocations by end of next week, if not in the next few days.
I'm still hoping for early enough build dates for euro delivery before the weather turns foul in Germany. But I'm a realist and know that probably won't happen but I'm still holding out.

Will you still do Euro delivery if its too late?

Certainly not Jan-March. Probably not December. November yes.
Euro delivery is on my bucket list so I'd have to wait till the next car to do it if it's delayed into the worst months. I'd be visiting clients anyway so the the weather turns foul I can park the car and get a rental for client visits so the trip wouldn't be a bust.

It sounds like fun. Hopefully Porsche will cooperate.
BTW, if rumors are to be believed October is the earliest they will produce US cars so you have a good shot to pick up in NOV.

I'm planning the same as Frayed. My trip will include Hockenheim, Nordschleife and a proper-run in of the engine + let's see if it does the 315khp But my cut-off time is October in Germany.
If you want a P car you can rent it at Avis Germany. They rent the whole line up. Just google Avis Porsche. Just got back 4 days ago and had the Panamera Diesel.
Absolutely lovely car.

Hoping to ship my car to Europe for a summer and / or do Euro delivery.
Sure, Spa and the Ring are up high on the list along with every other track event I can find, the roads through the alps and the beer and food, but a few autobahn blasts to and from the museums without the arrests or tickets is pretty cool as well.
