MAJOR FAIL! No Sport Bucket Set Option (6 point harness seats) WOW!

What about doing a poll and send a letter to PAG with a formal complaint that we need an option for fixed bucket seats?
I mean if it is PCNA keeping this from happening, why not go to the source with petittion signed by a large group of GT3 customers?
We might get some answers

This is a good measure, but before you start banging on the war drum I would make sure this discussion about bucket seats is not based on assumptions and premature conclusions. Drop an email to Porsche and ask when the bucket seats will be available for order in the US.

VW dealers don't want cars on the showroom with the Carbon Sport Bucket seats (the 997 GT2 seats). The cars are difficult to sell. This has been going on from 2008.
PCNA knows that PCA forbids 5 or 6 points harnesses to be used with standard seats. Not offering these seats will definitely reduce the number of Carrera GT3 tracked, and reduce the number of warranty claims on missing wheels from flying CL nuts, coolant leaks, oil leaks, broken axles, broken clutches, broken diffs, brake noises, suspension noises.
It makes perfect business sense not to bring these Carbon Bucket seats. It also makes sense to increase their price on the parts catalog to something in the $13,000 range, as no aftermarket seats offer side airbags that work with the VW Carrera GT3 harness.
Finally, it is not like people will buy a car from another brand by the lack of real seats. The VW-fanatic only have eyes for VW. VW will sell more Carrera GT3 than ever before.

I believe the issue us the side impact airbags in the seat, not possible w the "race seat", hence not available in the US. Nothing to do with the "cars and coffee" crowd, which also has a lot of garage queen gt3rs members.

Not the issue, every seat Porsche now sells has side airbags, including the carbon buckets. It is most likely a PCNA issue.

Well, 997 GT3 prices may take a dip but I'm thinking sport bucket prices just went up (assuming they can be easily bolted in)

Not sure why it's not offered, I had these seats in my C4S and they have the air bags. I don't think the configurator is completed yet and more options will be added in the following weeks.

Keep in mind that Sport Buckets are a bad choice for anyone who is moderately tall above the waist. I am only 5'11", but have short legs and long torso. I could not fit in 997.2 RS with these seats and a helmet (they are mounted too high). And the 991 has less headroom than 997 (unless they changed the seats or mounting points).
If anyone plans to write, maybe express interest in seats that will accommodate a taller driver with helmet.

I just got off the phone with a very helpful person at PCNA. He did not know the reason for the lack of the sport buckets. I explained in detail the desire of many people including myself who would not consider the car without them and their availability in the rest of the world as well as on the 997 variants. He gave me a case number and will look into this. I hope to hear back from him sometime next week. I will update everyone when I find out more.
