GT3 Drivers: How much attention do you get?

Few .1 GT3RS I have seem come "wingless", perhaps this is what you want to make the car a bit more incognito. As other forum members mentioned, the GT3 is a dude's magnet.

I believe all sports cars of all ranges and prices naturally attract people. If you then categorize the "type" of attention vs. the amount you will be very pleased with the RS.

I live in a town of 100,000 and my silver winged GT3 got a lot of attention. I now have a white GT3 Touring and I get
very little attention. I don't like the attention so the GT3T is perfect. A bright color GT3 RS in my town would not work for me. My business partner has a red Ferrari 599 and it's crazy how much attention it gets. The city you live in is a big factor I think.

In comparison to when I take my Pajero Evolution out, the GT3 barely turns a head. The Pajevo on the other hand, at 1/10 the value is an eyeball magnet of positive curiosity.
I do drive a Touring though...

Perhaps recognizing attention comes in ranges, from turning heads, to thumbs up, to ‘nice car’ comments, to cops pulling you over, to girls sitting on your frunk for a selfie, to those who come up to you in a parking lot at night with malicious intent.
Thankfully, I’ve found the lions share of attention at the left side of the scale and avoid situations to get caught on the right side of the scale.

Porsche GT cars look “special”, but they aren’t trendy. The lay person knows they cost some $$ but doesn’t know the difference between a regular 911, GT3 or a GT4. They are all called a “Porsh” in their world...
In my experience, car people and police are most likely to take notice 😁 Watch your speed and enjoy the GT3 👍🏻

Most of the time if somebody talks to you, they are an enthusiast and they know about GT cars in some form or another. My RS gets more stares and finger pointing than any other GT car I have owned, but even that isn’t super common.

I don't like attention, but my winged GT3 gets a lot more attention now that I added Fabspeed side deletes to the BBi center I've had for a while. It's flat six sound now all the time from idle to redline and it's loud and glorious. Sounds like a Cup car now practically.

IMO, this is what I have observed as the “variables of being noticed” by a Non-Porsche-phile in descending order (Just for the record.....I care nothing about My car getting anyone’s attention other than MY own attention):
Loud color (skittles) = Loud Exhaust
“GT3 RS” script down the side
RS Wing
RS black trim pieces/Racing stance
Being a GT3
Being a Porsche
More subdued colors (black, white, silver, chalk)
Being a “sports car”
To a true auto/Porsche enthusiast I feel the following are true
Skittles color/PTS (obviously there are zero PTS 18-19 RS in the US but for older models or Euro spec’d cars) = loud exhaust (no matter the enthusiasts knowledge these two still have to be the number one attention getter)
Simply being a GT3 RS - enthusiast know or are at least aware of the meaning of that RS moniker or RS body or at least the GT3 badging
Just being a Porsche
I don’t think much else plays into attention for this type of enthusiast
I recently met a friend at a cafe for breakfast. He has a white 991 turbo S, a nicely spec’d car. He parked right beside my RS (lizard green). We parked a little further out in the parking lot away from the other vehicles. Once in the cafe the owner of the cafe and a customer both approached us at different times asking whose RS that was. I told them it was mine. The cafe owner turned out to also be a Porsche salesman at the local dealership. The customer had recently purchased and took delivery of his 20th Porsche. We talked about the car some and then went on our way. There were zero comments or questions about whose Turbo S that was nor anything regarding it. Both somewhat similarly priced cars and beautiful representations of Porsche and their model line up. However, it’s hard even for the Porsche-phile to deny the attention an RS gets.
The rubberneckers on the highway or stop light.....well, I once was that young kid or teenager. No issue at all with them looking or them asking questions. I simply try to insure I am mature, responsible, and humble in all of my actions. But their actions do not result in my enjoyment of car ownership. Not the reason I bought the car.

The how much guys are the worst.

But the 2 most annoying / frequent gas station questions:
1) What did you pay?
2) How fast did you get it up to?
Once I had a kid looking at my old GT4 pre covid I encouraged him sit in it and took his picture with his phone. He was nice and asking respectful questions.
And yes - it's always 100% dudes.

Yes. I have a neighbor that has asked me several times for the same cars what my payment is. When I say 0 he always looks surprised.

This car attracts car guys.
Got thumbs up mainly from other Porsche drivers (911/Boxster/Cayman only lol) as well as some STI/GTI/Type R drivers.
Otherwise people only looked at me because the car is loud.
